I've been looking for someone that can bend DOM for wings up front. But that's been a low priority.

Currently on 33's with a ton of life left; 35s could be making a comeback :anonymous:

I'm not a big tube wing fan, but I have a design in my head that would look dope

    Do share!

There's only one design so far that has appealed to me; everything else I've seen has been a bust.

I don't have any drawing programs so here's the 2min sticky note minus isometric view since I can't draw by hand.

Just for you I'll draw a clearer version in CAD when I get home, cause its hard to see what I mean by my shitty hand drawing.

Wedding is this coming Sunday so other things are taking priority.

On the plus side, I bought a 10' long 2" square tubing for the actual swingout itself. Needed 3/16" thick tube cause I only have 1/8" at home.

    Thoughts on this?

I didn't think to need clearance below in order to utilize the bolt for assembly/disassembly.

For clearance reasons, the hinge needs to hang off like this since the Land Cruiser has a tailgate like a truck.

The gussets are the same size on both sides.

Yeah I'm using 3/16" cold rolled for everything, and the way it'll get burned in tells me it'll definitely hold.

Just want a second opinion cause sometimes I just second guess myself.

Clearance limitations requires me to have it stick back so much.

I would for sure add that extra bracket and if it was me I would box it in on the non angled part by the top.

I was absolutely thinking of boxing it in on the front flat face, thanks for reassuring me there.

Talking to Sergio he reminded me of the extra space I have in the back since I had to push it out more versus how I initially measured. Recommended using that space.

Going 4 gussets; 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

Yea I would gusset the absolute hell out of that and then gusset it some more. Crazy ammounts of force on that!

It's what I get for keeping the bumper as close as I can to the vehicle.

It sticks out now even, looking at it, but no more than the rear crossmember did.

The bumper did push itself out farther so some clearance was gained. Especially with eliminating the damn factory tow hitch.

I need to get back on 35s again.

Another thought: If you push it back so the spindle sits on top of the bumper, you could just drill a hole big enough through the main bumper body to get the bold and a corresponding socket on it from underneath. That’s actually what I’m doing to my current project. Although that would allow you to perimeter weld the lower portion of the spindle mount to the bumper, it’ll limit the space you have to add gussets to the vertical area.

I did think about cutting into the bumper top portion before having posted, but I assumed I'd gain very little surface area to weld on and risk having it too close to the vehicle.

I look at the pictures versus in person and it seems like there's more "room" in my pics. :bananadead:

On the plus side, I still have a lot of scrap left over from cutting the other stuff.

    Made more gussets already.
