    Main reason for this is strength; two arms handling less weight versus a single arm handling much more due to the added leverage.

    Yeah on account that the rear trunk would be taken up by the stroller, diaper boxes (bulk purchase), and more.

    Oh I'm definitely building a trailer!

    I'd like to buy some OSB and 2x4's to create a sort of "jig" though for keeping everything straight during tacking.

    I'd be happy just matching wheels and paint.

    But really the type of trailer I'd need to build is a small utility trailer.

    I will say, even with the light coat I threw on top (for rust prevention when outside), you can't tell that these are 4 separate panels all welded together.

    Was happy with how flat and square it came out to achieve this seamless look.

    Man it's been a busy few weeks!

    With having a big wedding, the planning beforehand too!

    Couldn't have done it without my people though that's for sure :fistbump:

    @Wulf
    @eon_blue
    @BartMaster1234

    With that said, I'm now finally starting to get back in the groove with my bumper.

    Deciding I'm going to run the bolt for the swingout through the bumper, and welding the nut as a 'capture' nut, I realized I'll have limited room to do anything else after.

    So I decided to cut up some plate and begin reinforcing the wings

    20221011_114123.jpg

    You'll also notice that I largely rounded off the corners on the mounting brackets.

    I don't like sharp corners at all, so I had to get rid of them. That and the corners stuck out from the bottom a bit so I'm sure I'll have to reshape them a bit so they're flush with the crossmember.

    Anyway, with those gussets in place, I added the bottom plate for the wings

    20221011_115850.jpg

    Will have to go back to cardboard cutouts to figure out not just the end pieces for the wings but also under plating for the remainder of the bumper.

    Well...looks like a change of plans for the swingout arm.

    Using 2" square tube leaves a big gap between the bumper and the arm so I'm thinking I'll go 2" x 3" rectangular tube.

    Fair to say I can go 1/8" since it's larger? 3/16" is what I would've gone with if I stayed 2" square.

    It's little things like cutting and grinding that'll take an hour alone...stupid brackets, under plating, and gussets.

    I use 2” sq, 1/8 thick for the arms when I build swingouts. Haven’t had an issue yet.
    On some builds I’ve used 2 x 3 only because aesthetically it flowed better with the particular design and 2” square just looked dinky.
