If you break those bolts on that application you have way bigger problems.

The +50lb budbuilt skid plate on the 4Runner was actually easier to install lol

But no not hard at all, just awkward cause it's smaller but so damn dense.

Yep, but I also want to protect my transfer case so that's why I opted for 1/4".

My LC has aluminum slee skid. Im all about it. Weighs nothing. May not protect as well but good enough for that thing.

Stainless in this case was for corrosion resistance.

They're "strong enough" where I don't need grade 10 by any means.

Yeah see, it all depends on application.

You guys on your 1 tons would run thick skids with grade 10 hardware; I ain't on 40s and tons so I ain't running 40s and tons rock garden trails.

So your axle housings have no reinforcements welded on the bottom/fronts?

Or a small skid at the lowest point of your truck to protect say your crawl box or something?

Dom protects drivetrain. May get a rear plate cause its shaved but the front is like an inch thick and its so close to tire I would have to make a big error to catch it on something going fast. The cover is prob only thing that is questionable. Ive never seen any protection on a sd axle actually.

I'd expect only like a welded front plate or bottom then again I don't know how thick the housings are, only their tube diameter for some.

Yeah I forgot about your DOM, see I can't bend tube so I plasma cut :burp:
