    Non-kdss correct.

I didn't look for items like nav, kdss, or air suspension as that could eliminate a well-kept vehicle that I'd come across.

This is the only one I considered with the exception of just selling the LC.

I had more offers for a 2nd Gen Tacoma (prerunner, access cabs) more than anything else; 3 different ones.

Understandable. I went the opposite direction and wanted a sport model. The wood grain was kind of a non-starter for me. The sport model has a dark grain (and KDSS as a bonus). Took me almost a year to find one that was in decent condition. Only downside is that it spent some time in Oregon where it got some exposure to snow etc. The frame/components do have some surface rust.

The frame/components on yours look clean as a whistle.

He wasn't hiding anything at all, if anything he's been super thorough about the vehicle and it was well taken care of by his BIL too.

IIRC, it will default to "normal" everytime you start/stop the vehicle. He probably pulled the relay so that it stayed at the "high" level to counteract the spacers. Looks to have a little squat on the normal setting.

My driveway is sloped a little but yeah you can see in that first picture, the front sits higher.

I'll need a day to pull it into the garage and pull the coilovers; will need the new top hat parts/bushings just to ensure it's all new stuff then I'll be able to bring the rear height to Normal so it levels out.

If I leave 'Height Control = Off' does that defeat the vehicle lowering itself?

That's what I was trying to tell @02hilux is that the guy pulled the fuse (to remove the display on the gauges) and relay (to disable the compressor) so that the rear stays up.

Wasn't sure if there was a way to just tell it to stay "High" without pulling fuses and relays.

There are 2 functions at play.

    1) selectable height control
    2) auto leveling

You can press the button to select what height you want (i.e. lo, normal, high), but it will automatically revert back to normal whenever you turn off the ignition. Pulling the fuse/relay will prevent it from going back to normal when you shut it off each time.

Also, whatever height setting you choose, it will automatically level at your selection. So, if you select high, then put weight in the back (i.e. trailer etc), the compressor will automatically adjust it to maintain that high setting without squat. I don't beleive that you will get any auto adjustment with that fuse/relay pulled though.

    Ahh ok, great explanation.

Guess I'll go pull my fuse and relay!

Side note, you can also adjust the height with the adjusters on the rear control arms if you want to fine tune the height a bit more.

Lol my garage is small, wife's car is inside right now.

Although the 80 fit just the same. Just have a bunch of tables and tools taking up room on one side.

Still think you are nuts for trading a clean LC for a 470.

But that thing looks super clean. You find more rust on new vehicles sitting on a lot.

I have a heavy spring lift on 35's and a single level roof rack. I'd definitely need a higher ceiling...lol

The LC isn't as clean as you'd think; leaks oil, leaks power steering, and started leaking a bit of coolant due to the PHH.

Panhard bushings were definitely in need of replacement.

Will say, the LC with the Spartan rear made climbing shit ridiculously easy holy shit...the flex was legit too.

Going to be fun having a dedicated crawler once I pick something up decent to work with.

Oooh yeah, the roof rack would do that.

I had 35's on the LC when I first got it though and it fit, but just barely

What I need to do in the meantime while I'm project-less is make more shit for 1st Genners :burp:

I've had 3+ different requests for a skid plate.

I'm thinking the next undertaking would be to lengthen the cutting area of my CNC table. My only concern is how limited I would be with my press brake as it only has 19" of width for bending 3/16" steel.

Oooh yeah yours wouldn't fit in my garage

My 35s (and 33s as shown in the previous page) had a much smaller gap between the wheel wells.

Ran Dobinson progressive coils which actually made for a comfortable ride.

Gotta say, the tailgate is one really nice feature about an LC!

Noo shit, yeah I ain't going to do all that.

I'm just shooting for stock-length and go from there.

No hurry to even try as I don't have a spring compressor to deal with the coilovers at the moment.
