Yeah, I'm on 265/70/17's (barely 32's) and am only an inch or two from the garage header. Kind of a pain since I need to remove the RTT anytime I need to pull it into the garage.

I have SPC compressors that @Shmellmopwho recommended in the tool thread. You are welcome to borrow them if you want...

@Just A Guy when you move back out west, make sure not to bring any rust over here, ya hear?

    GX looks good!

I'd have to buy jacks and jackstands first though; all the ones I used to have and use for the 4Runner and Tacoma got stolen when I moved. :bananadead:

I drive the wife's car up on blocks when I service it, and the LC was tall enough where I just went underneath with the creeper. :anonymous:

Yeah, it's one of the shitty parts about having KDSS. Have to have all 4 corners off the ground in order to remove the front sway bar and the front sway bar attaches to the LCA.

Haha, one of the first things I noticed too. There was some mention of it in the tool thread. Some kits come with a bracket that ties the two compressors together. It is oddly fallic shaped...

Yeh no progressives on mine. I'm the 2nd owner and the previous has the TJM heavy bull bar and rear bumper put on by the dealer. Must have been something they did back then. But yeh still space in the wheel wells even with the 35's. I also put on long travel shocks and 1 ton steering and drag link joints with DOM tubing for the bars. Need it for the crawling I do.

Oh dang, that's a pain in the ass it sounds like. But it's not like you're swapping coils or shocks all the time anyway so minor inconvenience.

I had multiple jackstands cause I had replaced my leaf pack, and those for several other members, at my old place. Really convenient to have.

You know it's funny you mentioned steering, I fucking HATE the lack of space when dealing with the steering system.

Was such a pain in the ass pulling the power steering pump and replacing all the lines and I'm a small dude so you'd think it would've been easy to reach up in there to get shit out.

Only time I found it roomy was when I yanked the radiator out.

Oh I kept a bunch of extra vacuum lines, an offset seal driver, as well as a Wit's End "emergency plug" for that tapered plug on the steering pump.

Well remember these parts are made for long term service and abuse. I have definitely tested every part on the trail..lol the problem is the previous owner never changed the coolant, had to do the head gasket, and rarely changed the oil, now I have to replace the timing chain guides and rear main seal. Those are supposed to be lifeltime parts IF you follow the oil change intervals. The PO didn't. I'm left with his negligence. BUt the truck is still worth the effort and $$.

    Oof

Yeah, being triple locked you're more inclined to just work around everything else to make it work.

I got lucky on the LC not from the previous owner, but the one before that. He took care of the front oil pump leak, rebuilt the front end, and other odds and ends.

Though I did have to unfuck several things as well (noted within the first pages) with all the shit lights he wired up everywhere.

The flex even on stock arms is ridiculous; enough to get you in and out of whatever you need to do.

How much travel do your rear shocks offer? 10"? 12"?

It's 26 inch total travel. I forget the stock travel though. But enough I really do need coil straps to prevent the rear coil from popping out. with the rear swaybar removed when I crawl I can almost spin the coil spring in the perch it extends so far. The upper link prevents it from popping out lol

Yeah the previous owner spun the front coil around already (no front swaybar), and I found myself doing the same even though I'm on Dobinsons. Used to have OME when I first got the rig.

Front shocks only had 9.8" or so of travel (like 13" to 23" shocks) but the rears had a tad more for 10" of travel. Even then the front drooped enough to allow the coil to float. :bananadead:

The extended bumpstops in the rear limited my up travel which in turned kept a rear wheel from drooping so much.

Had the same shit happen with the 4Runner rear too!

Mid-travel on 33s with the sway bar on as well.

Except uptravel limited on the passenger side due to extended slee bumpstops (you can see it peeking) which prevented driver from drooping more.

Yeh I kept the bump stop OEM height I think. I need to stuff as much of the tire as I can into the wheel well sometimes.

This is why people are going to love the link suspension on the Tacoma. So much more travel.

The bumpstop extensions were from the previous owner!

I kept forgetting to take them off and too lazy to find the right size bolts
