BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'm thankful I was dumb enough to put mine on; just for the damage multiplication I can inflict on someone else instead of the other way around.

That still has nothing to do with the fact that most lifts and light bars/lights are rarely made use of and are mostly for show, not function. Was just countering those who say bullbars are not functional so of no value. the people saying this are those driving 6 inch lifts they never really have use for.

I like my bullbar, but I also know it can give me hell when wheeling. I take it off before I go out. Truth is, it has been off of my truck for a few months now because I'm trying to get around to painting it black instead of plasti-dipped. I also drive a DCLB, so throwing the bullbar adds another 6-8 inches off the front and makes the truck look even longer. My friends have jokingly called it the Limo compared to there DCSB or AC trucks. I have PIAA lights (used offroad in the dark once) mounted behind my satoshi, so no need for bullbar or lightbar truthfully. It is all just a matter of preference.

As for the damage multiplier, the more the better when it comes to a slow hit. Anything fast will get you no matter which you have. I want it to do enough damage to my bumper that it has to be fully replaced so I can go plate. My hidden prayer is that some knuckle head will hit me just hard enough in the rear to shift me forward enough that my bullbar caves into my front bumper when I hit the car in front of me. New armor bumpers all the way around!

Never been a fan of the bull bar. When I see it on truck I think "someone just came from Pepboys". I rank bull bars in the same category as those fake fender vents, chrome door trim, type R emblems and any other Pepboys type "accessory"...basically they are useless and a waste of money. Then again I did get the TRD Sport because I thought the hood scoop made the truck look better :anonymous:.

I like the Avid but wonder if it would have prevented the scrape I got on my front bumper. Pulled a u turn on a trail that one of those construction site dumps drove up and down all day. Can an Avid hold the front end up a little or will it just crush?

I'd consider it as a bolt-on slider for the front. It's not welded on, but it is bolted on with 4 beefy bolts and is made very solidly. I wouldn't use a high lift on it, but if you get down into a wash and bottom out just creeping along, or have someone back into it trying to park, I would think it will hold up and perhaps save your bumper.

You need to get that truck dirty man! All that fine australian hardware and it's always clean. I agree that the only real protection that's tested/used all over the world is the ARB. Forget about all that other bro pep boys crap.
