BTW, thanks for the help Rick! it came out better than when I tried to do it myself.

 

I like the darker grey better. It's more subtle. But now you need to do something about the chrome of your emblems. They kind of clash with your sticker now that it's not white!

 

I know. I'll probably pull them or color match.

 

dip them in black. I think it'll match the black accents of your bumper and other plastics.

We spent most of Black Friday swapping out Squint0241's bumper, then did a quick photoshoot.

 

Then Saturday, I volunteered myself, my daughter, and a bunch of other local TW members came out to "help" Hawaii State Parks mark the designated roads at Kaena Point. And by "help" I mean pretty much do everything ourselves since the TW guys and all the kids outnumbered the state workers by quite a bit. Plus most of them left before us

Some parts were hard to mark off since there is so much vegetation loss.

Still on 265s. But my next set will be 285s when these wear out.

 

I ordered a tail gate cap from KBvoodoo awhile back and just got it in the mail today. Very easy to install and very well made. I'm not gonna do a tutorial, because its pretty easy, and Doording already has a pretty great write up with lots of pics on his thread. My wrinkle finish was not as nice tho, and on the inside there were some cracks in the wrinkle and was starting to rust through already. So I shot the inside with some rustoleum rust reformer. I might try to make it a little better by laying a thin strip of rubber on the inside of the tail gate between the cap and gate to make sure the cap does not contact the inside surface of the gate when standing on it. That way there really is no metal to metal contact.
It comes with a torx bit, which is nice, but my set is better

Not sure if I am going to run a strip of velco on the cap, or install a strip of magnets in the softopper window yet. Probably Velcro since I have some laying around.


Still a great product that adds some strength to the gate and at a great price. Highly recommended
