Trend? It's a good height if the wheelbase isn't too long. Making your truck sky high is ridiculous unless you just do mud or shows. Putting too much of an angle on long links makes it handle very poorly, especially when you're off camber.

It is easier to lift a tire up in the air and go off camber with narrow/light axles and light tires than with wide axles and heavy ass tires. So if the rig ends up being a few inches taller at the end, but you have wider axles with heavier tires I think it all works out well.

I think mine ended at 26" the first time we put her on her own weight after the SAS. Not bad at all, considering that it was on 40"s, links and 1 ton axles. Can drop another 3" easily adjusting the coilovers and going with slightly smaller tires. But I really have no need to.

Maybe guys running narrow toyota axles have more to worry about. With full widths my truck height is really perfect where is at.

I always want to stay lower just for COG purposes. Being off camber with a 6" lift versus 3" or 4" makes a big difference.

Lets not forget his Toy axle is 69" wms-wms, far from the stock 55.5" width.

Been doing some measuring, and it looks like I will keep a pretty low frame height. I think it's gonna come out under 23" frame height with 37s and 4" bump travel.

Looks unreal! Do you happen to know what LED strips you used and how have they held up over the months?

I have no idea, cheap waterproof LED strips from ebay. Some one sells kits here on TW tho. The ones in the bed are fine, the underbody ones got pulled off awhile ago.

Yeah, that's about what I keep finding.
I guess it depends a little on ride height with the A arms :D

The stock axle is far from 55.5" as others mentioned above.

Oh welll....then you don't have to worry about anything haha. 23" on 37" tires is actually great.

whole different ball game with 40"s though :D

A stock toyota straight front axle is 55.5" wide. That is where all the parts came from, and what I was referring to. And yes, there are idiots out here that have put a 55.5" width axle under their second gen taco.

and that's where rigs start getting really tall. The only way to make room for big tires with such arrow axles is to lift the rig up to the sky...that or removing all the sheet metal :D

Yeah, and in Hawaii, most people want their truck sky high with shocks maxed out. Narrow axles but 22x14" wheels
While I'm struggling to keep it low. I'm only gonna have maybe 4" of bump travel

It seems like You'll have the only low riding SAS in the entire place with normal wheels and tires. Watch out...you might earn a bunch of enemies :D

I think you are right at the norm in terms of up travel, that's what most people get. The only way to get more is to either notch the frame (more work than what it seems) or cut off the front part of the frame and build an entire new frame with higher points to get more clearance for the steering linkage [definitely a TON more of work lol] Some guys also do a drive line lift.

I didn't even bother considering any of those options. Too much work for just 2-3" inches. Would be cool but not worth it to me.

Yeah, the limiting factor for me right now is the upper link hitting the passenger side motor mount, and the panhard hitting the oil pan. But that would also require the shocks to come through the fender well, @1uzrnr had to beat the inner fender with a hammer to fit, but the shock towers fit fine. I think I'll be happy with the ride height.
