I was trying to avoid going through the fenders but at the end I had not choice. In order to keep the ride low I had to push those 14" coilovers as far up in the engine bay as I could, and the only way to do it was by going through the fenders.

My project had some additional challenges because the pumpkin of that D60 is so big man, it really takes up a lot of the already limited space under there. And on top of that there's a brace on top of it for the upper link.

So I took the bent up PVC panhard bar to @1uzrnr to bend up some 1.5" diameter 0.25" wall thickness DOM tubing to match it.
Jesse inspecting the angle of my rod!
    IMG_1473.jpg
I didn't get any pics, but after bending and welding on the bungs, it matched up great.
    IMG_1460.jpg
The plates next to it is a Barnes ultra 100 bracket we are gonna use to make a more narrow panhard bracket that goes on the frame side.
Gotta make some minor adjustments on the brackets, but everything looks like it's fitting great. Did a quick flex on the axle, and it clears the oil pan and pumpkin everywhere.

That looks great! It seems like you are getting the clearance now that you needed. Bending DOM can be a PITA if you don't have the right bender:eek:

With mine the only reason why the panhard cleared the oil pan was because we pushed the axle all the way as far forward as it could go. The IFS box ended up kissing the front body mount lol. Also, the oil pan was massaged quite well with a big ass hammer :D. Even though on 1st gens we do an oil pan conversion, we still needed to hit it to get like an 0.5" of clearance that was needed lol

Yeah, he's got me to do all of his tube bending.

My 4runner was a pain in the ass to put a 3-link on. The 1UZ oil pan, exhaust, and motor mounts were all in the way. Took a while to make everything fit and it paid off with 24" to the frame on 37's and 5" of uptravel. I beat the piss out of that thing!

Awesome rig! 24" on 37"s with 5" of up travel is really great.

so you are the guy doing the tube bending. You must be a really good friend :D

About the 3 link, I totally agree. It is a PITA to do...there's hardly any room under these toyota vehicles and one needs to get creative and start compromising. but it is totally worth the effort. I think a link suspension is so far better than leaf springs.

Glad to see to rubber bump stops there. I keep telling people that fancy air bumps are not really needed but they never listen :D

I know...that's part of what I made that comment. Just messin' with you man haha

Hydro bumps are nice for sure. You will see their benefit more doing the go-fast thing over really tough terrain.

It'll be nice only having a few inches of bump travel and I can adjust the pressure to my liking :D

I moved around some brackets today. Got it to clear everything at full lock to lock steering, full stuff and full flex. I also put the 285/75/16 tires on to have an idea of clearance when I get the 37s on. Gonna have to do some cutting!

I need to get @1uzrnr back here to check over my work before we burn everything in and then it's on to the hydro bump, and steering setup.

looks like you might need a new front bumper with more clearance. I'll take yours then. that was easy. :D

Tire clears the bumper fine. Just rubbing on the corner of the inner fender where the battery lives.

Ahhh...don't we love the part of cutting sheet metal and bumpers. Fun feeling, isn't? :D

Seriously...it is not a big deal at all....as long as you take your time and use a good amount of masking tape to trace where you are going to cut and protect the paint.

There was a ton of sheet metal that had to be cut from my rig in order to fit the 40"s. Also, the corners of my front ARB needed some trimming as well.
