I forgot to take pics of this, but we also added gussets to the long tubes on the shock tower.

Welded all the way around the gussets. Way better than before.
I was trying to buy a pair of 4wheel underground shock towers, but the guy stopped responding to my emails so I figured he didn't want to sell them to me

 

I hear that a lot about 4WU. Sucks cause the towers look really well done.

 

The whole kit is badass. I wish I went with his kit in the first place. I'm guessing he doesn't want to mess around selling ala carte pieces, just complete kits.

 

I'm trying to get a coat of primer and paint on all the raw steel so I can roll the truck into the driveway and wash off 8 months of filth and grinding dust

 

Wish he had one for 2nd gens. Had a buddy try to purchase stuff from him as well with no reply.

 

Yeah, but even the AP kit is basically the 1st gen kit that kinda fits the 2nd gen. Only recently they started making the front frame plates specifically for the second gen. The ones I got was obviously for the 1st gen. Too bad about 4WU. I think he just does it on the side. I'm sure his kit could also fit the 2nd gen with some minor modifications.

 

whenever I get the rest of the parts in for the 5lug (just waiting on the drop blocks for the rear) I may come down so I can use your spring compressor, if that's ok? will need it to disassemble and assemble the new drop springs for the front

I got away without doing the CMC for a long time. My 285s cleared it just fine, but with the 37s it'll be close. So I figured I'd just get it done while my truck is in pieces. BAMF plates.

I got a lot of shit done today!

 

How far forward is your axle? Cause just stock with the 315s I had to buzz that all the way down to the bushing mount.

 

It's pretty far forward. With the 37s on there it cleared the stock cab mount, but more clearance is better. And this will give me more room for adjustment. I can safely adjust my lower links and change the wheel base over an inch. The Johnny joints have pretty long threads.
