I don't need a spotter when I do 225 for reps, but I do... In the Corps we say, "If you got'em, burn'em"...

I don't know I just think you'll do more harm than good with hydro assist if you don't really need it. Like @bullaculla said on 33's sometimes he couldn't turn the wheel. I've had that plenty of times when it's up against a rock or in a jam, hydro assist adds more power to it forcing the tire to turn and could break something. But I'm sure it does help so up to you

Makes sense. Good thing here in Hawaii...no big boulders to wedge a tire between to create that situation...:D

You'll only do more harm than good if its not set up properly. The ram takes a lot of the stress off the box and makes it easier to steer, but keep in mind those small rams only have so much power, so when your jammed up against a rock it may not move the tires. If you keep up with the studs and nuts being tight, there shouldn't be any issues. Now if you were to have full hydraulic steering, you have more of a chance to break shit.

So HA is okay for 40s, but might break stuff if on 37s? okay.

Well 40's do weigh quite a bit more than 37's... it's like having 5.29 gears on 35's, just seems way over powered to have hydro assist with 37's, but to each their own

My steering rack struggles with 35's. It gets burning hot after a run and actually faded a couple times until it cooled down. I've been flushing my power steering fluid after every trail ride and the fluid usually looks dark and crappy.

I don't have hydro assist, and I'm on 35's and god I wish I had it... it'll be the next major mod... especially since I'm gonna go up to 37's next

So the plates are done, and again, these are more for peace of mind. The Front Range off road keyed steering arms are super beefy and I'm not worried about them. This was more just to look safer for recon inspection and brace the end of the heim bolt a little. But it's done and I'm happy with it.
Steering arm is keyed onto the knuckle.

The more I look at it the more I want mine to b like it.. How far do the tires stick out from stock? Is the rear axle shorter than the front? My plan is to go LT, but I hate glass fenders.

Mine stick out probably 4" past the fender. I can't compare it to stock as I didnt have these wheels and tires on the stock truck. but that will depend on your wheels, tires and axle. My axle is 69" wms-wms. And yes, that is wider than the rear.

I've been following this build for so long, I think I'll be almost as excited as you are when you get it trail-ready. Awesome work, man. Unfathomable attention to detail.

Truck is back on the ground and looking sexy. Steering box is connected to the steering wheel. No HA yet tho. I wanna get it running and legal so I can atleast drive it. Then I can work on all that after.
