    Picked up a pristine used softopper on Saturday. I absolutely love this thing. Love its functionality, how crazy simple it is to operate, fold out of the way, or remove altogether. Plus it looks pretty rad. And as a Jeeper, it also all feels very familiar.

    So there's a description of how much I like it. Here's a description of what sucks about it.

    I don't think my bed bar/softopper combo scheme is going to work. It's too short! No way any part of my yak is going to fit under there.

    So......in lieu of dumping a bunch of cash on a roof rack, I think operation jon boat trailer conversion is about to begin.

    304 3-speed. It's the biggest they put in the CJ's. My dad has a '78 just like it though, and we put a 401 in it. That was dumb.
