Which roof rack are you looking for? The OEM one, or just A roof rack?

"A" roof rack. Got a line on an OEM take-off from a guy that just ordered a Prinsu. But not sure all that can come together on my schedule. This coming weekend is my last before my beach trip. Plus I've still got to finish my yak trailer project (which I've taken zero photos of because I'm a piece of shit) and do a test load up. Still getting used to how tiny this truck is.

All I need to do is slap some of these on there to hold 11'+ surf fishing rods.

Currently eyeing these for budget/removability reasons.

so it'd be ghetto fabulous, but why not get 2 50" lengths of aluminum square tube, and make a DIY rack just to bridge the weekend? 1.5 in or so should be enough for some surf rods and shouldn't be too . Here's by best 2 view MS paint isometric diagram. Checking lowes website real quick, you should be able to have a good enough rack for ~45 bucks and 2 hours including the trip to the store.

This shit right here, is 100% my aesthetic.

Honestly, the only reason I haven't done this already is the PITA it would be to remove. I'm a naked roof from the factory, so my shit's still all nice and sealed up. I don't want to crack open those nut-serts or whatever the hell they are until I've got the scratch for a big boy roof rack. Or get an OEM on the cheap. Something that will stay installed permanently/semi-permanently.

I'm moderately concerned about the clamp-on style for paint protection reasons. But I don't think I'll be leaving them on. I think it will be a "hey time to go fishing slap the rack on" kind of thing.

Yeah, those clamp ones murder the paint. And you say that about the rack, but it's funny how after a few uses, they tend to just stay in place.

Also, that Jeep reminds me, I saw a high school kid driving a YJ with antique tags the other day, and part of my soul died. A jeep with square headlights is now old enough to have antique tags.
