Just drained the oil...a double washer stack came off with the plug. I can’t even get them apart, they’re melded. Thanks to those who predicted this!

On a side note, is it just me or is the dipstick REALLY hard to read? Why can’t it have the cross hatches?

I agree, my last truck had deep cross-hatching that gave an accurate reading. I have scribed cross-hatching on the end of my dip stick, but still miss the dip stick in my last truck.

If you check it too much it gets hard to read because you're dragging oil up/down the dipstick tube. Leave the dipstick out and walk away for 10 mins, check it again

If you scuff up the dipstick with some emery cloth at the lower end to take the shine off , then clean it very well before re-inserting, it gets a bit easier to read.

I posted the below before I read that you found we were correct. Glad you got it sorted.

    I posted a picture of a Tacoma 6 cylinder 1GR Oil Pan.
There is no flange as can be seen quite plainly on the posted image.
I have had mine stuck on the pan numerous times on all of my Toyota vehicles.
You can remove the oil drain plug without draining the oil by using a shop vacuum on the fill tube.

I’m glad to hear my public dumbassery helped someone else.

It’s also worth coming back to this thread to say thanks to all those who were gentle with me. You all could’ve flamed me (deservedly so) and you didn’t. That’s pretty cool.

This just saved my night, doing a quick oil change in the dark, forgot to put washer on. There must of been a double washer and one stuck because i definitely have a bronze colored flange still on oil pan. I’ll still double check tomorrow but at least I’ll be able to sleep tonight.

Actually to clarify, I didn’t forget it I thought it was still on until I crawled out from underneath and saw it still sitting there.
