    Howdy, y'all.
Been reading stuff on Tacomaworld for more than a year off and, but just became a member in January when I picked up a Gen 1.
This forum is huge! Just today found the central VA thread.

I have an 02 with frame cancer problems and flipped through this thread to see if anyone in the Richmond area might have a suggestion on what dealership to take it to. Seems a lot is up to interpretation by the different dealerships.
Heard tons of horror stories of trucks getting impounded and people paying for every broken bolt.
Heard a few stories of dealerships treating people well and guys not paying a dime to have a frame replaced.
    A) Is this truck still under that warranty or is it too late for this one?
    2) Anybody have any suggestions that have had this done?

Heard good things about McGeorge. Page Auto out where I am, not so much.
    Thanks for any input.

Pretty sure the ship for frame replacements for '02's sailed many years ago.

That seems to be the consensus.
Is anybody manufacturing a cab back replacement that you can cut off the old and weld in?
What's the usual fix, find a donor at Bruce's and cut and weld that in?

How much and how bad? May just need to be cut out and plated in.

Does Bruce's have foreign cars now? Haven't been there in years.

Apologies for the slow turn around.
I'm not 100% sure how bad it is just yet. I bought it in January when I was out of state for Uncle Sam with just a quick look over and under and had the seller take it to a dealer that supposedly looked it over for me. Once I got it home, I keep finding more and more little things (death by 1000 cuts) that the dealer should have seen if they had really looked. From the forward rear spring mounts back it's looking pretty flakey but no holes that I've seen yet. After the rear mount it's right bad. I wasn't too worried about the end bit since it's easy to weld in a replacement, but the rest will probably follow all too soon. The proportioning valve is a solid block of rust. The truck started it's life up north somewhere and even though it spent less than a year up there, it's left it's mark. Rust never sleeps.
Y'all think it might be best just to take the bed and axle off and weld in a replacement from he cab back instead of patching a bit at a time forever?

Turns out Bruce's does stock some foreign parts now. I talked to a guy that works there (Jonathan). He has a '99 Tacoma and says they don't have a huge inventory but he'll help us find parts if he can.
They don't have any frames but he gave me the number of a place out around Lynchburg that might have some full or sections.

East Coast Auto Parts (540) 586-5713.

Sucks these threads are pretty dead. I just from what I see around Cville there should be tons of people on here.

Hey any fellow friends on here want to help a first time truck owner out on installing an icon stage 3 lift and fog lights sometime in the next month or two? Beverages or/and compensation could be provided. Thanks so much guys. 2017 SR
