I'm depressed right now :(... I used to hunt when I was about your age, until I left home for the Navy after graduation, an old family friend gave me nice Bear compound bow for Xmas when I was about 14, took a 7 point 170 lb buck down with it when I was 16

Anywho, haven't shot it since.... Took it to get looked at and tuned last night and found out one of the cams is warped and cracked and they don't make parts anymore. Hoped to pass it down to my son, oh well...

On the flip side, I see a lot of bows for sale on Craigslist :D

How old is your son? If you're looking for a bow specifically for him I'd get the Diamond Razor Edge. I have one and love it, killed plenty. The draw length has a wide range as does the draw weight (30-60 lbs). I looked at one in cabelas while I was there and ordered one online two weeks later. Had mine for 4 years, no problems.

Oh he's just a toddler, so it'll be a while before he can shoot... I just wanted to get back into shooting a little bit again, since I've had the thing up in the attic for a long time... I wish I had stored it in a hard case... It was by no means a top of the line bow, but it has sentimental value.

I looked at that exact bow you mentioned online last night, it's actually made by Bowtech which from what I can tell online seems to be the hotshit brand these days. I don't know if I want to drop $400 right now to get back into it... I'm debating... My time is limited, so I don't know how much I'd be able to shoot.

Oh yeah... No doubt it's a bit of investment to get going... What I like about it though, is a set of arrows lasts quite a while for target shooting. Contrary to a firearm that you have to buy ammo for, or reload, in which every pull of the trigger is money spent. I like my guns too, but bows are cheaper fun in the long run.

Anybody near Richmond, check out the Hunt N Shak on Broad St. in Gum Spring, it's a great mom and pop place and all they do is archery. ;)

Yup, been bow hunting for a few years. Took my first deer with it too
Saw an article in the Chesterfield Observer this morning about a bunch of people working to stop bow hunting in the area. Usual wounding animals and hurting people shit

Nice pic... Looks close to the same size as my first one as well...... Freakin tree hugging losers man... One day they'll be lobbying to ban kitchen knives as well...

On a side note... I got my bumper installed today.... I have a few things to wrap up on it, but she's all bolted up.

Almost finished with my dual battery setup, just two more wires and it should all be working.

Keep us posted on your trailer... I love fabrication projects... Had thoughts myself of doing something like an M100 trailer, I have no room to work on or store something like that right now though.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas....

My wife is the best !!! She got me a 10" drill press... Been wanting/needing one real bad :D

It was good, glad yours was too. Got a bunch of much needed tools and a nice gun cleaning kit. Some food as well. Got a re-gifted inkjet photo printer I need to sell though
