Congrats, nice truck. IDK if it was said or if you already did it or not (only read the OP) but you can get those letters off the flaps just using mineral spirits or acetone. Pretty cool because it will leave a raised area in black.

I wish I could tell you more on that pump I really don't know much about myself other than my 05 5 speed had one and I had no problems with the idle. I work with a few other people that have Tacomas some newer some older and they all have cold start pumps. the only information I can find out is it has something to do with smog emissions as well.

Lucky me, I got the very first in CA (among the very few first ones in USA) that was sold in 6 speed TRD-color combo.

 

Awesome truck Vijay, I like the color. I've got a 13 dcsb baja edition with the 6 speed, was the only 6 speed around when I got it.
