Mine is at the dealer today to, getting the rear leaf TSB done. They went a step further and e-mailed me a letter to sign saying that I modified the suspension and that the tires are too big and that I take responsibility for all of that, etc. etc... They are even claiming in their letter that they have no way to align the truck anymore because of the suspension and the tires that I put on it. Bunch of BS, but that is why it is only there to get free stuff from them!

get everything in writing from your dealership. if you don't agree that way you can forward it to corporate and it's not a word of mouth argument.

Like bjmoose mentioned that's more than likely the 70mph windshield noise your hearing. There's a tsb fix for it. Check out the noise in this video...

I only had one problem with the dealership and that was some confusion on the leaf springs. I had to read the TSB to the service writer. They replaced my blower motor with no complaints. I have the "Free" oil changes and they haven't screwed that up either. I usually bring in my own synthetic oil so I don't pay their extortion fees for it. But otherwise I'm pretty happy with them. Of course I won't go back after the free oil changes, I'll just do it myself.

They don't like doing TSB work, it goes as a negative service for the dealer. They will take warranty work all day.

I fucking hate the dealer...I finally gave in and brought mine in for the gas pedal recall and those fuckers fooled around with my DVD player and sub. I always keep everything in my truck in a very certain way and I know for sure that they were blasting it for at least a half hour

The dealer relies on the fact that your average person is a complete idiot. They could tell that same line to most people, and they would believe it. That's why it's so fun dealing with them when I clearly know more than they do.

It's all in the particular dealerships you guys are going to. They're individually owned so each one is gonna have different quality techs, managers, and service writers. I've been a Toyota tech for the past 3 years and have been at 2 different dealerships. Some have people that just do not know what they're doing and do not belong around cars and some have really great techs that actually know quiet a bit. I work with a mix. Personally I see no reason they would not want to warranty a part other than pure lazyness or not knowing what they need to replace. They will all get paid whether its warranty or customer pay. If its a really warranty problem that the customer clearly did not induse then I would rather warranty its cause it makes the customer leave happy not feeling like they just got bent over a table. Sorry to hear about you guy's experense though, if any of you guys are down my way I'd be glad to look at anything and at least figure out the problem if we can't warranty it.

edit: Also I'd like to point out, its not Toyota motor company telling your they won't fix it when a dealership does that. Its that individual dealership giving you the run around. Toyota motor company would 100% approve it if its a real problem like it sounds like you have.

Don't you have weathertech mats? Why would you let them chop your pedal?..
