I hear various opinions on the 6112s but I believe it would be better and more aggressive than the thin stock shocks

Curious. Did you have them re valved or using them straight out of the box? They are great for fast over washboard! Had my friends beat on their King and Fox shocks. They felt like they were going to lose their kidneys after. One of the friends has since switched over and not go back to other shocks. Yes pricey. And well worth it. They are also good over the slow stuff and not feel too firm. Their whole thing was whyyy did I go for the brand least used in Baja?!? In my eyes they are coming way up in the off-road world as I been using them in my old tundra since 2017 and in my 2018 taco. Here on my 07’ tundra(same as the one in my thumbnail pic. Converted frt end to 2014)
Sorry. No pics in the 2018’ taco. Did a bad lawn dart at Pismo beach. Whoops!!

I'm running the 8112 and smooth 8100 as they came out of the box. Didn't even adjust the height. I still feel every pothole and crevice in the road, but the suspension handles them much, much better than the factory Sport suspension and the truck is much more controlled over uneven surfaces. Mine have about 1,000 miles on them so maybe they're still breaking in? I'm sure the bypass rears make a big difference on yours too.
I don't know how 8112's compare to the 6100's, having never driven a truck with those. But if the OP doesn't want a firm ride then maybe a "progressive" valved shock might be a better fit. I'm just not sure which options have the combination of quality, value and low maintenance of the Bilsteins.

I see. Yeah. I did have mine valved for progressive as I never really use my truck as a truck for hauling anything. It’s mainly just going to be used as a daily and off road ride. The rear of the tundra was rendered useless after the suspension mods. It was fine. Like I said above lol.

Follow me on ig if you want. I did have a full page with over 500 pics til Nov last yr. My old acct got hacked. This is my new one. My 23’ taco Trd pro should be here today. If not then next week. I’ll have my build there. I don’t care about likes. It’s mainly to show my collabs that everything does go on my rides. @project_orange_bullet

Re-valved 8112's must be glorious. Maybe I'll look into that down the road.

@05 4x4 - custom valving might be worth looking into, depending on your budget.

I couldn't find a compelling argument for the ride quality of 6112's vs 5100's on a daily driver truck. I went 5100 for half the price of 6112's. Haven't installed them yet. My daily drive includes 5km of unpaved road with washboard and potholes. Will report back on 5100 vs the stock TRD OR Bilsteins.
