Is the Difference between STD and LT Cooper AT3 tires "in terms of fuel efficiency, ride comfort and noise on payvment" really a thing? I have a 2017 SR5 Long Box 4WD stock and need new all season tires. I do drive on gravel roads and I am occasionally loaded down with family and camping gear but don't off road as a past time. Do spend time driving on highway payvment more than 2/3 of the time. Will the AT3 4S be enough or the LT too much. Sounds like C rated tires in this brand don't really exist for my Taco?

LT tires are likely overkill for a Tacoma and yes they are generally less efficient and ride stiffer.

The difference between an SL tire and LT tire of the same make and size will be the weight difference of the two tire. The LT will be stiffer and the fuel economy difference will be small. But if you compare them to your highway tires then there is a big difference. I wouldnt bother with LT unless you tow alot or go offroad on barren lands where you dont know what you are running over. Most of the AT tires will be better than highway tire. I would also look at other brand and compare the tire max weight to find what is best for you. Example stock 265/65/r17 max load is around 2300lb while discover at3 265/70/r17 max load is around 2679lb.
