Drove truck around very briefly and gave her the onion :burnrubber:

I think misfire is cured! Old plugs were original with 167k miles. I will have to take it out again this week for a proper drive to be sure

I made use of some jack stands today. Swapped in the new to me diff, 5.29s w/Toyota LSD. Pulled the stock 1st gen Tundra open diff with the standard 3.91. One Reign energy drink, few f-bombs, one sore knuckle.

The good: Nice to have some power off the line! Felt good compared to where it was!

The bad: Of course, it has a distinct howl on coast/deceleration.

It’s quiet durning acceleration, smooth as far as feel and LSD so far has no chatter. Guess I’ll see how long it lasts!

How much of pismo is still available? I know a year or two ago it was in threat of getting more taken away.. One day i hope to take the tacoma there to rip.

it is smaller then when I had last truck (8 years ago), but from what I heard is they opened up a bit more than last few years. Friends of Oceano Dunes has won some of the fight and looks like will countinue to win. Hopefully it will get opened way back up. Still a great time. SxS are kinda a pain there now! Track everything up so fast! Good thing about Pismo though is the winds usually fix the dunes nightly! Worth the visit to check it off list. If you plan on coming out hit me up and we can set up a meet!

Sweet! Glad to see it maintaining and even making a bigger return. Those pesky golf carts mess everything up..

When the trucks finished I want to come out for a fiesta island meet or offroad expo in San Diego and hit some dunes etc.

Took my kids out to Hungry Valley for rip after some rain. Dodged puddles and mud. Small whoop run was ok, choppy whoops from all the golf carts. Was fun till ranger asked me to leave but said I wasn’t doing anything wrong. :jpow:

I just throw this here because in the other thread people will get butt hurt. We have been around long enough to remember when everyone took what they have and had a blast together. Now its a different thing. They would rather sit around talking travel and HP numbers while we pass them in our little leaf spring trucks. I break a lot of stuff but I also put a lot of hard dirt miles on it and am not afraid to push it. The funny part is I am probably going in the wrong direction building a baja bug but it is one of the most fun vehicles I have driven.

Your new build is bad a$$ btw.

    Thanks!

yeah I have noticed its a lot of “mine is bigger than yours” type convos. I miss the “club” type feel it had where everyone got out and used their shit together and helped each other along the way, it that it doesn’t happen just seems like a way different vibe now. All well nothing stays the same. I’m still gonna do what I did before, just keep it right side up haha

Now you have a cage. Just kick the windshield out and keep going. Lol. But please keep it dirty side down this time.
