Go to wrecking yard, find truck, pull seatbelt, install seatbelt, carry on with your day. Seatbelts are designed with huge safety factors. Id worry more about a million other things going wrong before id worry about a used seatbelt failing.

I wouldn't worry about replacing it. Just tie it in a good knot where he chewed through and try not to get in any accidents

Remove/replace of seatbelt assy is doable as a DIY (bolt-on). The retractor mechanism with the explosive pretensioners is what makes the part expensive. A couple of the eBay listings advertise a rebuild service for $50. That looks like a sensible deal - remove seatbelt assy yourself, send it out for rebuild, get it back and install.

This is tougher than you think with 2nd gens. The seatbelt pretensioners likely have fired, possibly before the airbags even deployed.

I'd paid the dealer like others are saying, and then submit a bill to your dog.

Mine loves the bed. He puts his paws on the wheel wells and hangs his head over the side everywhere we go. I tether him off at opposite corners so he can't jump out any direction. I wish I could do it more but much of the year it is either too hot or cold.

Sounds like you've got a good, calm dog. My current one is nervous riding shotgun; can't imagine him in the bed! To each canine their own...

lol.. Mine loves the bed too. I use a harness instead of a collar just in case if she were to fall out the side, she wouldn't hang herself. I anchor her to the tie downs but make sure the leash is short but long enough for her to move and hang her out out the sides of the bed. Highway travel is different though and long trips she rolls in the cab. lol

Your going to need to replace the whole thing, could do an insurance claim. It won't raise your rate up any.

That's sucks, reminds me when my golden chewed my seat belt in the Element. I was like WTF !

I ordered a replacement from Honda dealer. Price was ok since it's a safety issue. Removing and putting back trim pieces is what take longest to do.

Good luck and remember these puppy memories.

Steel and metal are not a living being. A dog is.

I understand your not a dog person, to each their own I guess. But since your not a dog person, don't suggest to people who are that dogs are nothing more than a disposable object.

To each their own. Everybody values things differently. I'd personally rather my Tacoma explode into flames in my driveway than lose my dog.
