I tried to order the 75dz and it won’t allow me to put it in my cart because it’s on backorder?

I’m not dometic but I just added one to try. Mine looks like this. B9721016-0AA0-4304-8876-23BF9D3B0104.jpg
As you can see it says out of stock and can’t be added but it still added it and let’s me go to checkout. I didn’t go past this because I believe if I “accidentally” buy another fridge my wife will murder me in my sleep make it look like an accident and then collect the checks. (She’s a nurse I seriously worry about this from time to time because of Tacoma world )

Hmmmm maybe try calling them. I didn’t have any issues ordering mine even on backorder. I’m really hoping though it’s in stock before next week.

I apologize...it looks like the e-commerce team has changed the behavior since I last posted. I hope to have an update on inventory next week and will post up information at that time.

Got word mine is scheduled to ship Thursday. @Dometic do you have a link to the hardwire kit? I was talking with out local rep and he told me no power poles it will void the warranty so definitely want it right but I hate my 12 outlet in my bed since it’s so freakin loose

Sure thing. Here is the link on our site to order it up.

Unfortunately, these are out of stock at the moment. I'm trying to get some inventory updates from the team and will ask about this as well.

    Thanks!

New to the fridge game. What's the best way to power fridges without tapping into the truck's battery?I know some folks are running dual batteries for this purpose, but that's not something I want to do. I'd much prefer a method that allows me to power the fridge without compromising the truck's electrical system in case there's some freak accident and prevents me from operating the truck and now I'm left stranded.

I see another popular options is to use a portable power supply (Goal Zero, Jackery, etc.) I have a 4runner so I have an outlet in the cargo area that's hot when the engine is running.

From what I've seen, those portable power supplies would be what you're looking for. The fridge is plugged into the power supply, power supply plugged into the truck. Basically like an UPS for servers and computers if you're familiar with those at all.

You need to verify the voltage at the 12v source. A lot of folks are running a dedicated wire from the house battery for that after upgrading that battery But I’d suggest reading this thread for your aux battery needs.

If you want to power the fridge without any sort of dual battery, and without using the main battery, you're stuck with either the stand alone power supply or a generator.

Dometic makes a great (though expensive) battery option that might work for you...

    https://www.dometic.com/en/se/products/power-and-control/energy-and-lighting/batteries/dometic-plb40-_-195560

But at $850... it’s worth consider upgrading your battery for $350 ish, and simple wiring to the new battery and rechargeable jumper like this for ~$100
    https://no.co/products/power/jumpstarters

    This is what I did.

We got the cover for free because our fridge was a little roughed up in shipping. I’m glad we did. It’s like armor and seems very durable.

I may have to pick one up for myself then. Do you have any other pics? I'm curious how the lid functions compared to the old style and if it's any different.
