Here is a video we'd shared at the start of the pandemic where Reed Frick, CFX3 product manager, did a comparison between sizes. He didn't cover the 100, but it should give you an idea of sizes relative to one another

My inclination would be to recommend the 45, however you could make the 35 work just fine. You can get rather creative with packing and packaging food (pre breaking eggs in to a water bottle, stripping/vacuum sealing, etc). All that said, more space is easier and in your case you are not constricted by size due to where you are placing it and the cost difference is pretty small, so I'd still lean towards the 45.

Dometic CFX3 75DZ slides are out of stock. Just purchased a fridge and looking for slide options. Any recommendations? Was thinking DFG slide but just want to be sure it will work with the fridge cover.

Call them up. It should be fine. Mine has enough room on the 35 slide. 75 should be the same. Good quality product.

Does anyone see a reason why I shouldn't cut my 12v DC cord in half and wire it directly to the battery? I have the fridge on a platform in my rear seat with no intentions of using it anywhere else. I figure worst case, I buy a second cord for $20 if that situation arises.

I want the wiring clean and hidden and rather have the fridge plugged in, hidden away where I can't reach it, I figure may as well eliminate that connection.

The factory plug has a fuse built in. You'll see it if you unscrew it.

That said, I considered cutting mine, but opted for the threaded connection instead.

That's the only thing giving me pause, but the connection to the battery would be fused as well at the same amperage. I just have a hard time spending $40-$50 on a threaded connection mount when I could spend $0 and have, IMO, a more solid connection and look nicer.

That's fair. If the rest of the system is sound, I don't think it's a bad idea - but @Dometic will likely say you're on your own/they're not responsible if anything happens.

edit: never mind - yeah, we were discussing those a while back lol.

I don't see an issue with whatever you're trying to do as long as you've fused it at 20 15amps Max. The Threaded Connection on Factory plug does not have a feud so it relies on you running a dedicated line with its proper fuse.

As for Dometic having an issue with it, can't speak for them...

Edited due to speech-to-text fail and then some!

    Sorry, it's 15 Amp fuse, not 20!

That's a great point as well. I ultimately decided to go with the ARB socket but I am going to shorten the Dometic cord since it'll be entirely too long. Rather than bundle up the excess I'll just trim it down.

For those following along, here’s a follow up so you can rest easy now. I went with the arb kit for ease of install and shortened my power cord. Used some cool wire organizers to secure it to the platform. No excess and nothing to get snagged.

Dometic has 15% off sitewide, or so it appears. Everything I’ve seen is 15% off. I picked up some proper Dometic straps to hold the fridge down as well as a cover.

Didn’t you have a cover when you first got it?

No. I did on my old CFX-40 though, maybe that’s what you’re thinking of.

Oh. I thought you had the sweet new style covers for the CFX3. Now I can’t remember who it was that had it when they first come out. It made me want to sell my fridge and get a new one just for the cover.
