I have a 1 1/2 year old 55IM and it has started to freeze drinks and frost on the inside. It’s set to 49 degrees and still does it. What’s up? Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Frost? Could there also be an air leak?

No leak. Definitely frozen. Thanks Naveronski I will do that. A bit of google search seems that’s the problem. I appreciate it.

My freezer, at home, frosts when the door is left open. Thats why I asked. Separate from the thermister.

I contacted Dometic customer service and with a straight forward email exchange they are sending me a new cooler. I can’t complain about that, pretty pleased with their customer service.

Starting to get everything in order for next summer tired of messing around with ice and coolers.
Ordered up an ecoflo delta 2 with a 220w solar panel. Generally I only do 2-3 day trips but twice a year I do 10 day trips. Hoping between 12v charging and solar it will suffice on these trips powering a cfx35.

What size has everyone been using? I'm tempted to bump upto a 45 but still convinced a 35 will be sufficient 90% of the time maybe use a cooler to hold frozen items for the first half of a trip.

If you are a wine drinker, pick the 45, bottles will not stand up in a 35. Or perhaps even the large 2 liter plastic bottles? Don't drink much soda so I don't know about this one. Much agree with you on the ice; when it was $0.99 a bag and always available at the front of grocery stores ice was a better deal.

45 fits behind the passenger seat in our 13 AC. It is big for us, we can keep containers of frozen water to stabilize the temp, and to put things on top of. Containers are 5+ inch round, 7 inches tall.

So, we could get by with a 35, but not buying another one, unless this one breaks.

Not using ice make the usable space 100%.

We resupply more often, instead of buying for the whole trip.

    We set to 34°F BTW.

I'm planing to remove the single seat on my DC on the driver's side to build a platform for it and the delta 2 or the delta 2 will sit on the floor in front of it. That will be determined once I have everything in hand.

Definitely no wine bottles or 2L bottles on our trips so if height is only the biggest note that's not bad. Our one cooler is a 55 which is enough space including ice so I was thinking the 35 should be sufficient as mentioned above you have no wasted space.

It's official I'm going to be ice free this year. Scored a deal on a cfx3 45L and an ecoflo delta 2 with 220w solar panel.
Curious to see how the run time will be.

We have a Dometic CFX3-35 and love it, had it for a couple of years with no issues, until now... We generally plug it into an EF (we have a couple of models) using the DC/12V cable. We keep it in the bed of the Taco.

We camped this weekend and found the cooler had powered off a number of times after we were messing around in the truck bed but the EF was still on. The assumption was moving around in the bed made the cigarette adapter come loose some how. Would jiggle said adapter and cooler would turn back on.

Figured maybe a bad DC/12V power cable, have a replacement coming from Dometic under warranty. Ordered a knock-off from Amazon in the meantime, same issue, if you jiggle/move it it will power off.

Anyone using a DC5521 cable from their cooler to power bank (if supported)? It looks like the EF River 2 Pro has the connector but the manual (not very good) shows it is only 3A and the Dometic manual appears to need 7.5A. Trying to validate both numbers to be sure.

Am I missing something? Is everyone using the cigarette adapter and just living with it and checking to ensure it stays plugged in? Again, not had an issue for 2 years so hoping the new cable fixes the issue but was trying to see if there was a better option. Thanks!

I've unscrewed the regular 12v plug and am screwing it into the socket.

I may have to look into this option if I go with leaving it plugged into the truck battery all the time. Right now I have the EF but may look at a secondary battery for the Taco since it rarely leaves the truck.

I had a Jackery Adapter go bad. I then had the same symptoms.

    @Naveronski What is that connector?

The connector is already part of the dometic power cord.

The receptacle is also fairly common, but you can purchase it separately if needed:

So the actual DC/12V port on the Jackery went bad? Were you able to get it fixed/replaced? I have a couple of EFs that I use on the cooler with same result so I don't think it is with the battery pack. I wish they had some way of using the connector that @Naveronski showed above. I know my best option is to put in a new plug in the bed of the truck and run to the battery instead of a power bank but hate to do that due to the cost and what $$$ I have already shelled out for the EFs.

Which model(s) of EcoFlow units do you have? Might be able to suggest a workaround.
