I have an email into the team asking about both sliders and covers for the CFX3 models. Production and shipping have definitely gotten out of whack given all the recent events. I'll post a follow up as soon as I have some updates that I can share

So after purchasing the Dometic CFX3 75DZ and the PLB40 battery I decided to run a test to see how long the battery would last.

I pre cooled the fridge for a few hours via AC plug at 36°F, both compartments, and I fully charged the PLB40 battery then I proceeded to run the fridge with the battery at the same temperature. I only had a few cans of sparkling soda in one compartment and the other one was empty. It ran almost 44 hours inside my apartment with an indoor temperature off 72°F - 76°F.

I will run another test with one of the compartments set to around -5°F and see what the outcome will be.

This is my first time using any type or portable fridge/freezer and I'm impressed with the built quality of both items and how silent the compressor is. You won't notice it at all. I don't know if it is possible but it would be great to be able to see the battery life of the PLB40 through the app.

    I can't wait to be able to hit the outdoors and give it a real life test. Screenshot_20200330-165144_Chrome.jpg 20200330_165727.jpg 20200330_165754.jpg 20200330_165858.jpg 20200330_170522.jpg 20200330_170603.jpg 20200330_170636.jpg

One thing to consider is a full fridge will do better. Less empty space for the compressor to chill. All that stuff will retain its coldness so to speak.

Thank you for posting up this info. As @EatSleepTacos mentioned it will perform even better when loaded.

I really like your suggestion of integrating the PLB40 into the app at some point. I've passed this suggestion onto the team.

Be sure to post up your next set of real-world tests. We're looking forward to hearing!

Just got my dometic cfx 55 and I'm so excited to get out and start using it.

Couple of questions. I was noticing the first time I powered it off I kept hearing a whirring noise from the motor. I'd expect to not hear anything after being powered off?

Real life experience, how long does it take to make ice? Is that completely sealed off in there? I am waiting for ice but I spilled water cause I'm clearly not stable enough to put ice trays in without spilling hahaha do I need to worry about water freezing in the tray outside of the containers?

Seems a bit abnormally loud, is that because of the rapid freezing?

    @Dometic this just happened.

I been using my dometic now for a few days, at home. I ran a test with the BPL40 as described above. After the battery was depleted I connected with the AC and ran it. I then lower the temp on one of the compartments to 5°F then proceeded to put some ice cream and a few other things, to test that everything was working as it should. I notice the compressor kicking in a bit louder than usual. The temperature when down correctly and was holding well, variant from 5°F to 7°F, I could hear when the compress would be on and off, no super loud but loud enough that I could be in my bedroom with the door open and the fridge in the living room area ( I live in an apt).

Now today, I open the fridge compartment side and loaded up with sodas, juices and a few other things. ( I I tooked the basket out then I put it back loaded) A few minutes after I close the lid I notice an increase on the fridge side temperature and I told my self it was normal because I took the basket out to loaded then I opened the lid to put the basket t in. After that I set the temperature to 30°F, I left the freezer side at 5°F. After about one hour I get a notification on my phone stating that my inside temp has fallen out of my temperature parameters. I restarted my phone, the app, I powered off the cooler, change AC plugs, I even plugged into the PLB40 battery and still nothing, what ever temperature I set it on, through the app or the cooler itself it won't work. I read the manual for troubleshooting and nothing. I set it now both compartments to 5°F and nothing, it just reads that one compartment is at 55°F and the other is at 9°F.

    Please help!!Screenshot_20200402-134647_CFX3.jpg 20200402_134616.jpg

Were the sodas and juice cold when you put it in, or room temp? If room temp, it's going to raise the temp of the fridge and take awhile to come back down. Has to remove all that heat in the sodas.

Hey, yes everything was cold. I took them from my regular fridge.

That is odd then. How long has it been plugged into AC and remaining at 55?

Does the fridge readout that same temp? And it actually feels warm in there? I can't think of why it'd be doing that.

Still reading the same, 55°F and 7°F... no idea what's going on. Damn, everything was running smooth until today. I'm glad I'm doing this type of test before taking it outdoors. But this pretty much sucks. I have it plugged in into the BLP40 and its draining power since the battery now is at 91%, it was fully charged.

@Dometic the temperature has started to drop since my last post, but I don't understand why is taking so long to drop!? 8 hours later and now the temperature is 43°F and 7°F... is this normal? Screenshot_20200402-223004_CFX3.jpg

Yes, I left it on for 24hours and it never reach the correct temperature. I turned it off for a few days now, will give another try tomorrow.

Any ideas of what it's going on?

Sorry - I completely missed your question.

Given that quite some time has passed where you able to make ice? How is the noise level now?

Finally got an update, but it's very fluid. Like everyone, our production and shipping have been affected by the pandemic. The best guess we have right now is May or June but, again, it's very fluid and not knowing when everything will start recovering. :(
