That's a sweet knife Mike :D My friend at church said he would sharpen my BM 940 with his fancy $600 wet stone system and get it "Stupid Sharp" :D I'm excited to get it back Sunday so one of my other knifes are going into rotation and the space pen was sent back to Fisher to get it fixed.

I have a cheap Chinese sharpening system that I use on my knives and some of my friends knives. It works good for touch ups, but I've reprofiled a large filet knife with it and had good results. The stones are the same size as the wicked edge and fit this system. At some point I'll upgrade to those. The stones are the largest downfall of this system.

Thanks! It holds an edge good too. I just use a good ol sharpening stone & can get it sharp enough to cut the hair off my arm. Haha

Ive never tried a wet stone before. I bought a Lansky System and it did a decent job on one of my knives. I was not going to do it on my 940 for fear I'd screw it up :p I was planning on sending the knife to Rob aka The ApostleP on Youtube to have him sharpen it. He's about a month behind so I wouldnt get it back till mid-March so my buddy said he'd sharpen mine :D I want it to be Sunday really bad

Why not just send it back to Benchmade? I like a sharp edge as much as the next guy, but for my EDC blades I like what I call a "working" edge. Not necessarily hair splitting but plenty sharp enough for normal tasks.

It was sharp when it came from BM but I wanted it sharper. Plus they use a bench grinder to get the edge and I want something sharper than that. The ApostleP will actually take the knife apart and clean the whole knife and lube and polish the bushings and put a super sharp blade on it. When he is done with a knife it makes BM look like amateurs. You should watch his videos and see what I mean. Its pretty damn impressive.

Yeah I'll have to look him up and see what he's all about. The thing I like about Benchmade as a company is that they'll stand behind their product. I've heard they have the occasional QC issue from the factory, but they will fix their issues. They are very pleasant to deal with in my experience. My 940 is basically my grail knife. I'm too scared to carry it anyways. LOL.

Ive heard that too about Bechmade. I emailed them about some extra deep carry clips and they were happy to send them too me. I dont think I had any QC issues but its always good to see someone improve on something thats great. I am not much of a knife collector so carrying the 940 isnt that big of a deal to me except for it being so pricey. Gotta say though I definitely love that knife

I'm not much of a collector either, but if the 940 falls out of my pocket unnoticed I'm gonna be PISSED. I'm still waiting on some deep carry clips for mine as well. I am always shocked at how quickly they respond to customer service requests.

Wish it were easier to get a CCW Permit in Canada but we make do.
