Yeah, haha! He supposedly works at a "welding place". Lol. Anyway it's good now but if I decide to upgrade to a uniball UCSs, it probably will be wack.

We could definitely work something out. It's a small enough job that I could squeeze it in sometime

Did some flexing to check clearances today. Everything clears, but some things are very close. Lower mounts were burned in and gussets will be made for the hoops before I remove them for final welding.

Progress on the gussets for the hoops. Passenger side is ready to pull and weld, but I got slowed down on the driver side because I couldn't get the steering shaft joint installed on the steering column. On that side, I'm building the gussets around the shaft, instead of the shaft around the gussets. No need for spending money on extra steering shaft u-joints to weave the shaft around the gussets/hoops if you don't have to.

It looks like the top of your hoops are pretty far outboard, and I see minimal notching (narrowing) of the frame for coilover clearance...what do those coilovers look like when you drooped out one side and stuffed the other? The geometry for those coilover mounts should be such that the bottom eye is never closer to the center of the truck than the upper eye, if it is, you should move the upper mounts in for proper geometry and body support. Its easier now than later.

The hoops themselves are further outboard than others are, but the shock mounts are on the inside of the hoops. Also, there was no notching of the frame on this truck. I know you had to with your 2.5" coilover, so this was a big reason we decided on a 2.0" coilovers so we could avoid that issue. I think these pics may give off an optical illusion but the geometry is all in check. I thought I snapped a few more straight-on pics but I guess not. I will try to get some this weekend.

Had a small rat problem this week. Tim and I cut the hole for the twin sticks for the Fj case a while ago but never got around to installing them or covering the hole so after a while moisture entered the cab which caused a lot of mold and mildew to develop. Then, I noticed some signs of a rat being present so I tore the console out and screwed down a plate over the hole. I ended up spotting the rat on top of the transmission bell housing, and he was a monster. Interior will be torn out and cleaned, and I believe suspension seats and either new carpet or some type of liner will be put in.

The passenger side Coilover hoop is done, minus paint. The driver side lacks the gussets as of now, but once those are made the hoop can be pulled for welding, then reinstalled and welded in/painted. This thing will be sitting on its own weight before the end of May.

I am going to be way off saying it will be sitting on its own weight by the end of may, because it already is :D. I got off work early today and decided to knock out everything left welding-wise on the front.

This is pretty well a custom one off build right?
Is there any possibility of making kits?
She looks good. Wish I had held off a lil bit longer and gone this route.

I doubt he will be making any kits. I'll sell you this one when I grow up.

No chance that I make a kit. This is the first and last complete one-off swap I will ever do that is not for myself. It is too much work lol
