Got the driver side frame plate welded up today. Decided not to go all the way to the body mount because I want to use 1/4" plate there for the steering box rather than the 3/16". The box is moved 1/2" forward of where the original builder had it in these pics but I plan on doing some more trimming to get it even closer to the core support. I plan on really pushing this axle forward from the stock location.

nice, I think when I do my RUF and Chevy 63 setup on the 80, im gonna have to move the steering box forward since I think the rear leafs push the front axle forward an inch or so

Steering box frame plates and sleeves are done. I used 1/4" on both the inside and outside of the frame and 3/16" on the top. Also got the Chevy 63" swap brackets cleaned up and welded, along with the frame side lower link brackets. Up next will probably be to pull the axle and cut off all old brackets and get it cleaned up.

Got the Fj case halfway mounted up so we can figure out the shifter situation inside the cab. It's going to take some creativity to get the shifters to clear the transmission shifter.

Also got the bed pulled off to sell. I had an old hoop I bent up a year ago or so that ended up being too big for what it was meant for so I hung onto it and it ends up fitting this truck pretty much perfectly. Tube/flat bed is obviously the plan here.

Not much progress to report other than me starting the new front crossmember to take place of the stock, flimsy one under the radiator and condenser. It is 2x3-3/16" rectangle tube with ruffstuff specialties d-ring tabs. It will be a good platform to build a winch plate and bumper off of down the road.

    Where? Who?

Where did this truck come from, and who's was it? That's a lot of rust for Florida, no?

Florida truck, the rust is just from the truck sitting out in the rain for 2 years. Doesn't really hurt anything though because everything that is rusty is being removed.

I was waiting for that reply lol. I had to do some design changes to it because there was a clearance issue with the new crossmember and the a/c condenser. I can probably pre-build yours so we can throw it on your truck a little faster than what this one is taking me.

Front crossmember complete. Slow progress, I know... but parts are slowly flowing in still. Tube inserts for the 3-link arrived today and the DOM for the 3-link and panhard is on the way.
