    Throw me down as an overall lurker.

    The job situation is dicey as of now so I have no clue about the ability to get time off. I won't have a new lift and my suspension is sagging worse than my grandma... and I'm running 31 in tires.

    btw - the switchbacks in one of those first videos are hellacious

    35" Tires, AEV front recovery bumper, 2.5" AEV lift, Certified Mall Crawler sticker, Warn 9500 winch, Hi-Lift, Air compressor.
    I found the decent to be harder that going up. (isnt that always the case?) I came in from the other side and went down first, then back up to camp at the top. I had some switchbacks which required I jog back and forth as many as 10-11 times in my 4 door JK. My buddy (and guide) did about the same in his FJC. He had a slightly shorter rig and I had a slight edge in turning radius. I only used a spotter on a few of the SBs... mostly to help me get as close as I could to the edge or wall safely to minimize the jogs.

    Did you watch the vid of the trail on top? It is rough. I don't want you to be uncomfortable.

    It'll be awesome.

    And no I won't be locked...least..I don't THINK so..could happen. But I think if I buy a locker I'd get 4.88 gears f/r and just a rear arb for now..so what..like 1500 bucks ish? +/- 400. So ifi do that ill have no gas money most likely for this trip.

    But..who knows..

    If anything ill get a winch by then.

    Dang man sorry to hear at :eek: hope you can make it as I would enjoy meeting you!

    I suspect that a locker will be enough of a hindrance to turning sharply, that things will go better without one.

    I am toying with the idea of being able to use only the front one (leaving the rear open) after mostly clearing the turn to help pull the front of the truck around the rest of the way. Not really sure it is possible or even necessary. The front tires might be too sharply turned at that point, putting too much pressure on the front CVs if I use the locker.

    I wouldn't use a front locker on this unless you know you can drive almost straight. But I can see how that logic could work quit nicely.

    But I d think a rear locker will be nice or any locker. But when to turn iron and off will be important.

    I think the front locker will just hinder turning... even more so than the rear locker. Now if we had a rear driveline disconnect then a front dig would be reasonable. Just set the e-brake and see if the front end can drag you around unlocked and if not, then lock it and give it a try:D

    No question it will hinder turning. In fact both will.

    I was thinking only turning it on coming out of the turn, as my right side slider is dragging along the rocks on the inside of the turn, :D
