But I have to admit. The wind river range was the most beautiful place I think I have ever seen

 

So much to see, so much to do, so little time. Summer time in the high mountains is just too damn short.

 

The Windys are awesome...but the beartooths and Tetons are sick too...pretty much the same sorta..haha and the big horns are awesome in their own way.

All True and I will be there if its the right two weeks off. I really won't know the timing until later in the year. But when I can commit to some date I'll let everyone know. Thanks for some flexibility in the schedule.

Definitely! I think you are referring to one of my trips from last year, I plan to have many many more this year, I will let you know.

I also want to do the Alpine, but I know you guys just did it.

Yeah that's crazy, I spend a TON of time in wyo fishing, just haven't been wheelin yet. I'll be sure to fix that real good this summer LOL.

It sounds to me like Jason wants to just stay up by Goose and do his thing.

If i put a trip together i will do it so whoever wants to join me can drive Goose lake. Then go explore the other roads in the area.

Not sure if Morrison will be the start of that or just its own trip later.

 

i havent done anything in co..soo keep meh posted. will have to pick carefully what i do if i plan to come since i can really only make one drive down there

 

Yes, I definitely want to spend at least 2 or 3 full days in that area up around Goose Lake, doing some hiking and checking out the 2 or 3 other lakes we pass on the way in. If that means I will be driving out by myself then I'm ok with that

 

Cool...yeah, I know Wishbone likes fishing as well so it looks like there's at least 3 of us who would want to spend a little more time in that area and do some fishing.

That would be great man! We are dependent on river flow, so 1st week of July would be optimal to start the trip into the Bob. We would have to set up our own vehicle shuttle (other wise there are 2 companies who would do it at a cost of $500), and that would take at least a full day to do. If she plans on packing us in, would she take just our packs/gear and we would be hiking in? Or would she have a pack animal and then also horses for us to ride in? Either way...I'm good with it and covering her fuel costs would be no problem!

 

If we do it right after Moab you are already pretty much in CO

Ok...I'm good with hiking in if she's packs our gear in. Well, I've been backpacking for years and have it down to a science so I'm usually pretty light weight. My pack would weigh maybe 35lbs - 40lbs MAX (I know that doesn't sound light weight but for a 8 - 10 day trip that's not bad), then add another 6 - 8 lbs for the packraft, paddle, and pfd.

 

Well I assumed that we'd be trying to save weight and pack space so wouldn't pack in the normal foods or amounts I do. I'll try to save weight and space by eating a lot of those trout we will be catching
