That was my point. We need a firewood chopper guy for all trail evenings.

edit: Also, maybe Jon will takes some awesome pics of my rig when he's not chopping firewood.

lol, I'm working out these days just by splitting wood with my axe, so yeah... :p It's not as fun in the summer as it is in the spring/fall, the temps are better for it.

And this is only for Leg 1, that's all I'm gonna make it for. :p

Besides, you guys will be too busy chattin' :p

Never hurts to have more than one source. Besides, the chainsaw will help keep things in manageable lengths.

Awesome! Now I have a good excuse to figure out chainsaw mounting with bar/chain oil & gas INSIDE my rig, been wanting to do that for a while. Perhaps I'll figure out something for the roof.

    Looking forward!

Alright, I'm leaning more towards being in on the Lander portion of the trip.

If things work out like I'm hoping they do in the next few months I can probably make it work.

I think it's about 5 or 6 hours to Lander from my place. Is that leg of the trip two days? So 4 total for me? If so that's totally doable.

EDIT: This is assuming you really think my stock truck on a 165,000 mile suspension with 31s could really get through every thing. I feel pretty confident in my trail experience but that only goes so far on some cruxes.

I have a splitting maul. Or I could bring a couple nights worth of seasoned hardwood (if you know what I mean) up with me if I do join.

well..last time Ben just liked playing with my axe

Ill be more then willing to do it as well.

    Sweet man!

is it possible? probably yes. I think with your experiance you'll do fine. You have sliders which will be key. If you can get 32s or skids before then it would make a huge difference.

Lander will be 3 days. Chistina in the first day and a bit of explored. Then Up to Shoshone on one day as i don't want to rush on this trail. Its plenty nasty and plus the lake is great and will be nice just relaxing down there. THen 3rd day out.

Chistina would start at noon on said day. So if you came the day before or just got up early you'll be fine.

would make your trip about 4 days..but could be 5 depending on how long Shoshone takes us :notsure: will greatly depend on rig count.

Like i said before i will do everything i can to make sure you make it down safely. Chistina will be a good gauge, if you don't like Chirstina..you'll HATE Shoshone. If you end up just bumming a rid to Shoshone thats no bid deal.

Just be ready to maybe give in.

But as before its not like there are HUGE Moab obstacles. Just TONS of rocks that are nice at smacking your diff, skids, and LCAs. There really isn't one good line for most of it. Some there are.

All up too you really. I really would enjoy meeting you and camping and wheeling with ya for a few days  so i hope you decide to come and give it a go.

What happened to getting the small OME lift and 32s??

If things go as expected or better than planned, then maybe I can get the OME on before wheeling season.

32s ain't happening until the current 31s reach the end of their life... which will be quite a while from now.

If Jon plans another trip to my place before I potentially make it up to Lander, then maybe we'll have the transfer case skid built. :notsure:

He is in CO now..PM him. Im sure he is bored lol

and the lift will help everything but the rear diff.

Again. We will have all day to do the trail so not that worried about it so long as we don't have 4 rigs on 31s and they don't know how to drive.

    i think you'll do fine though....hopefully..
