    I don't want to derail your thread but thought since your route is in the neighborhood, you might want to check out this.

    Although it's a motorcycle ride report, it's mostly overland trail and really pretty impressive stuff. I have some friends who did it last year and had a great time.

    The guy who wrote that is incredibly detailed. I spoke with him on the phone about the trip and it was clear he'd compared his notes against the actual trip by a couple of the answers he gave to the gas questions (for some bikes, the distance between fuel stops requires additional fuel be carried. Probably not such a big deal for our trucks).

    For what it's worth, he is a ship's pilot by trade

    Yea its a very nice report. I can't help laugh a little how fascinated they are with some stuff in WY though :p haha Im gonna have to check out the trail though no doubt..

    And yea range isn't as near a big of an issue as we can easily pack extra fuel. Hell i have enough jerry cans for a whole extra tank..haha

    hey, if the overland guys did it with a fucking trailer in tow...im confident in the 1st gens...i dont care how close brady says the 2nd gens are too the firsts...i wouldn't want to be in one. I have sat in sumerous 2nd gens...and they just feel bigger and more bulky. Not something I want on THAT trail.
