    @n0troublen0fuss

Got the front rock lights remounted last night along with wiring them up, the place I put them should work much much better on the trails than just in the wheel well. Gets rid of the cool look factor, but the practicality of them is there.

Just need to figure out where to place the rear ones and get two more ordered so I can put one to light up the rear axle, and possibly another one to light up the underneath of the truck for clearance check on the trails.

New air compressor has shipped from Dynatrac... guess I need to go ahead and order the Slee Mount for it then and get ready to install it in the truck.

Guess that means I should be selling my ARB Air Compressor Toolbox soon.

Nice man, glad you got it worked out. Those shadows were definitely extreme. Sounds like they will make great low key camp lighting too.

Possibly, they are pretty bright and get hot if ran for a while.

Need to get the rears installed and wired in as well, but mainly wanted the fronts done first.

Will try and get some pictures tonight of them actually on and such, there is still some shadow there but not as bad as it was.

Damn, hmm good to know. Camp lighting was my main justification for the want! Now I am just working out the balance of want/need, but sometimes the want list is less expensive than the need. :anonymous:

Always on top of his game... don't know how he even gets anything else accomplished!

It may work well for camp lighting, will have to see how they all perform.

I still need to get like two more lights for this setup for what I want exactly I think.

Got some pictures last night of the rock lights, should work pretty well on the trails. Will just have to see. May try and get the rears installed this week before going to Barnwell next weekend.

Looks better in person, and part of me wants to get two more lights as well for the front and have two on the front, one on each side the rear, one in the middle for the rear axle, and then maybe one in the middle of the truck for the underside of the truck.

Thats sound like a lot of lights and the front ones look pretty bright. I would wait and see what it looks like with all the wheels done before ordering more. The fronts do looks more useful where they are now.

Yea, they are pretty bright, I just need to do the rears and then see how the fronts do on actual trails to see if they are useful or now.

Would just like some light on the other side of the wheels now, but only getting on the trails at night and testing them out will let me know.

The pics (which may not be real accurate) seem to show a lot of light hitting the top of the tire. I put my (now busted) lights forward of the tires (front and back) to light up there the tire hits the ground. Worked well when it worked.

Yea, there is a good amount of light hitting the top of the tire just because of where they are placed. I may end up moving them forward some more, but just did not see a good spot to mount them.

Will just have to get on the trails to see if they are worth it, hell, may just move them back to the wheel well if they won't be very useful and use them for the fancy points.

Have you finished the solar set up yet? I might go ahead and order the same one you got for my pop up.

Not yet, going to try and get it installed one day this coming week after work if I can.

Should not be too hard of an install really, everything is pretty straight forward.
