    Look for something on this thread from Adventure Medical Kits... going to be checking out some new products from them hopefully soon and writing up some reviews.

    All good, should hopefully be getting two new items from them to check out, I take my medical and first aid stuff pretty serious. I hope to never have to use it, but always like to be prepared.

    Other than their tourniquets, they seem fine for an off-the-shelf first aid kit.

    Yea, I am not a fan of tourniquets unless you are trained to use them. The Mountain series are pretty good and I keep one in my truck, then I also keep a smaller 2.0 kit in my glove box for easy access to bandaids and such. Then a 1.0 in my Camelback for MTN biking.

    I would not mind a good hard case first aid kit like there are out there, I had gone with these as I had a FSA card and was able to get them bought with that for the company I worked for through them. So ended up not paying for about 10 medical kits in total... I have two 1.0 kits and a .5 kit sitting beside my desk that I need to giveaway.

    Whatever they send me... if it is crappy, I will say it is crappy. But I would not mind one of the new Mountain Series kits though.

    Remind me, I'll bring two to Jambo. One to practice with, one to keep.

    Will try to remember.

    Speaking of medical stuff.... I have been thinking of taking one of the NOLS Wilderness First Aid courses as they have a bunch offered in Texas. Just as a refresher and to have some better outdoor training than the normal EMT Basic stuff that I have.

    Yea, I miss that... got laid off last July from them and had a week to spend about $250 that was left on that FSA card... so bought $248 worth of first aid kits.

    Sorry if I missed it somewhere but what are you doing for storage? Recovery gear, tool bags, med kits etc. I know you have said some things stay in the truck, just curious as to what and where.

    Side note: You may be solving my bed rack vs. topper dilemma but my issue is overall cost. Was the camper something you planned or just got a good deal?

    Recovery gear is stored in a Plano case mounted on the Prinsu rack. Two ARB Straps, a Southeast Overland Kinetic Rope, ARB Tire Kit, Soft Shackle.
    Big medical kit is stored under the rear driver side seat, smaller one in glove box, and tool bag is stored behind the rear passenger seat, arb compressor tool box is right behind the driver seat. I also use a Blue Ridge Overland Gear seatback panel for storage with different MOLLE pouches for tools and easy to access stuff.

    The camper was something I was not really planning on purchasing when I did. I knew I wanted one, but the one I got was too good to pass up when I was at the Lone Star Jamboree last year. I wish it was the reinforced version as it would solve my RTT issue... but working on that at the moment.

    I would much rather have a camper shell on the truck as it keeps everything dry when it rains, gives me a quick shelter if needed, and helps to prevent stuff from walking off like my Hilift, shovel, axe, and then gear I put in there on long trips.

    @trekker

    Do you have shipping yet on the fridge? Wondering if I ordered it tomorrow if it would be here in time to get it in the truck before Jambo...

    If I ordered, I would go head and start working to build a platform for it for the back seat, but I don't think I would do a slide for it right now. I think it would still be functional if I got the 51, I would just figure out a way to keep the lid open somehow if needed.

    Right on. :thumbsup: Forgot you had the Plano case up there. Will have to find you at Jambo to take a closer look. Hoping to make it there in time to make the TW meet if that is still a thing. Girlfriend may have to work that Friday morning. :pout:
