The Expanse (Syfy then Prime series & Some Book Stuff)- Still Canceled

in case you're interested.. upcoming Season 6 will be the last.
A buddy who read all the books said there is a jump of 20 years ahead between book 6 and 7.. thinks that's the main reason.

The jump is pretty big, yeah.
A lot happens in the last books too though.
Maybe they'll 'revive' it later and give the cast a chance to age... (wishful thinking, eh?)

Cas Anvar (Alex) won't be in season 6 either.

 

So, how far have you gotten? Whatcha think?

 

I'm in the 3rd season, mainly because of time purposes.....I know things eventually need to end but i am just glad I have a lot more to go before that happens.

 

Well.......they did follow up Firefly with the serenity movie........God I miss firefly

At least The Expanse won't be met with an abrupt end.
Both authors are producers on the show so they have a say and they'll find a way to tie things up. Both authors have also hinted on Twitter that this might not be the hard, full stop, end of The Expanse on TV..
That being said, I'm interested if they try to wrap everything up by season 6 or if they end it where book six would have ended and leave it at that or try to continue it on later down the line.

The sixth season will happen though and it will be the final season.

Serenity was a terrific wrap up all things consider.

 

There's quite a few shows that have tried (and failed) to change episode order to garner views.
I was just looking at the show Enlisted the other day which suffered the same fate because they put the "more exciting" episodes up front and in turn screwed up continuity. Was a pretty funny show otherwise.

 

It doesn’t make sense.

The creative team of any show has a vision of how the story unfolds.

Seems like hubris for those outside of the show to think they know better.

 

Blows my mind. You think you'd want to listen to the people who wrote the damn thing.

 

Another thing that kills me is the lack of merch/advertising for The Expanse.
I feel like the only time I've seen an ad for Season Five is when I go and watch the teaser/trailer on YouTube.
And for a giant online seller, their merch is seriously lacking as well. You think they'd come up with more than t-shirts, hoodies, and pop-sockets...
You have to go to Etsy or something for any cool stuff. (Not that I don't like my Pur'n'Kleen shirt...)

I hear ya. Can’t imagine having my stuff be managed/represented by others.
