New amp is in the truck, tuned up, and sounds great, since the first of the year, I've been able to pay down $2,500 on my credit card debt AND I get to go out drinking with a buddy that I haven't seen in nearly 5 years on Sunday!

Pretty minor things, but all good things.

After all these years of having sucky up and down shifts (work 3am-noon or 6pm-3am in the same week, different split days off every week) I think I secured a steady schedule. I had to make a deal with the devil though.

But at least hopefully my insomnia will ease up. :)

Ok, let's keep this thing going. Surely there are more things to feel good about. In a world that sometimes seems like it's full of dirtbags, creeps, and shitheads, it's good to know that there are people around that so selflessly reach out to help others. Yeah, I'm talking about TW.

Forgot about this thread. Congrats, tinker troy. You are beating the odds, my friend!:headbang::yay::woot::bananadance:

Edit: tried to stick a rock band smiley in there but it didn't work. Accordingly, there will be no rock music to celebrate tinker troy's accomplishment.

    Just found this thread...

    Here's a nice one:

Back in November of last year I got involved through work with an organization called Renovating Hope. It is a non-profit dedicated to hepling dis-advantaged Military Vets with much needed but often out-of-reach Home Improvement needs. The concept being that with one less thing to worry about these Heroes can have a better path.
In February (In partnership with the Christopher Reeve Foundation) we installed a 20KW Whole house backup Generator for a Quadriplegic Iraq vet who would essentially be in a life-threatening situation if he went without power.
This coming month we are doing a large remodel for an Wounded Army Vet from Afghanistan. He was on patrol with 4 others when they triggered an IED. 3 of his fellow soldiers were killed instantly One other was knocked out cold & he took heavy shrapnel to his left leg & knee. Lying wounded two Afghan Insurgents came out to finish them off. He shot one and managed to kill the other in hand to hand combat.

He is now home and trying to make a living for his wife & two boys 8 and 11.

There house is a small former "vacation" home in the Pa mountains built in the early 70's and has not been updated since.

We have a crew starting on 3/5 that will be replacing all the old dark paneling that is in the whole interior with drywall. All new doors & moulding. New Bathroom. New Kitchen Cabinets & countertop. All new carpet.

This will enable the family to have a "new beginning" and help our wounded hero have one less thing to worry about.

This is not extreme home makeover by any means - but it will drastically change the outlook for this family.

It cheers my heart to be involved with this.

I hope it puts a smile on your face as well.:)
    Thank you,
    ~ Craig
