Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
Nothing here at home in Beavercreek. But all my realtors canceled for tomorrow. Looking forward to a snow day and throwing a brisket on the Tregger.

Dang! You're right the path of the impending storm.

We have about 1/4" snow right now and things are starting to ice up. Living up against the coast range in Forest Grove we sometimes get more snow than forecasted. This is due to the cold air mass getting packed up against the range keeping the snow falling and sticking. While just 3-5 miles east of us, the snow has completely turned to rain.
    We'll see what happens.

Vancouver is currently just iced over vehicles with a dusting of snow & wet ground. Aired down & ready to go for work in the morning.

That makes sense. We haven’t been getting the moisture the last couple hours. I hope we get more here. Not that I can call into work or anything. But it’s fun to have it.

Update in FG. Just took a lap around the block getting ready to take the wifey into work at 130am. Roads have roughly an inch of freezer cold powder. It seams to pack nicely and KM3s grip really well even in 2WD. Braking cautiously is very controlled, as is turns.

Not sure I would attempt driving a small light weight car with street tires and zero forms of traction control, as they would most likely just pack the snow and spin, rather than get a good bite and continue.

I am predicting that if this is the kind of snow PDX is going to see, then it's going to be a shit show once a few vehicles make some packed tracks and those freeze over. The pre-deicer they spray down early might be good until snow depth is over a few inches and temps stay below freezing 12hrs or more. We'll have to just wait and see.

Yup, It's going to be a shit show today. I only drive from Forest Grove to Cornelieus Freddies to drop the wife off and only managed to get up to 25mph all the way there.

REALLY easy to slide through a changing light if brakes are at all applied. Slightest slope on the street and even feathering the clutch from a stop and all four tires break loose. Had to start in 2nd to reduce the available torque.

Coming back home, saw several cars completely unable to make a turn through an intersection and slow-mo right into the curb. Also, several cars that just slid straight off into the ditch here and there.

Oh, and show off WRX Subie driver went right into a curb as well, attempting a too fast of a turn through a 4 way intersection with all four wheels spinning. The way his car bounced, I'm sure he bent a wheel amd control arm. He had zero traction in that turn.

Be smart out there. Stay home if you can. Consider chaining up if you plan to drive anywhere that you may need to stop abruptly or have hills to contend with.

    Going back to bed.

Pretty easy drive for me into work in Hillsboro today. Only saw one jackass in a Dodge Ram going way too fast. Everybody else seemed to have learned their lesson from 4 years ago.

Was just out this morning. Inner SE to NE, and out to 82nd. Icey with a couple inches or so of snow everywhere more or less. First time taking Gandalf on road in snow. He's a beast. Stock tires, not aired down, 4WH, and I had to try to kick out the back end, or spin out taking off. Traction control didn't want me to. Slammed on the brakes a couple times to see how well he stopped and I am impressed. Far better than my TJ ever did. I do have a good amount of weight on the back end.

Have fun everyone, and be safe!

CNN style reporting. Find snow drift and measure. 3” and dumping.

I think the more accurate measuring location is from the piles after you shovel your driveway. Just dust some fresh snow on top to make it look natural.

Was wondering if anyone knows the conditions of the I-5 heading into Portland? Gotta make my way up there tomorrow from Corvallis. It’s nothing but rain here but wondering at what point I can expect the roads to start getting bad.

I actually found a few drifts in our backyard that are over a foot deep. Lol.
