I was actually just talking to my wife wondering if dumping was a problem. I just replaced our hot water heater and took the old one to the dump. Found out it would cost me about $40 to throw it in a giant dumpster. I paid for it but really had me thinking that it was a pretty steep price and could be a deterrent to people doing the right thing.

Sounds better than spending half the time trying to find the trash to clean up. I think we can make this happen. @PinStripes Where excatly is the location?

Depending on date and location, I’d be up for this.

I have access to some sharps containers for us to take for anything sketchy. I unfortunately have to deal with that shit all the time in Public Works.

Once pinstripes get back on the location we can move this over to the clean up thread. Just sold my trailer last week, so we are gonna need a volunteer with a trailer that is 100% able to show up to make this happen. I bet we can find one. Just to throw out a tentative date and get the ball rolling, lets say Saturday March 27th and go from there.

I’ll keep an eye on it. That’s my 5 year olds birthday weekend and she didn’t even get a birthday last year because we were holding up other families at gun point for toilet paper in the Costco parking lot lol

I do, but I never use the main spots. Way too many stories of people being dumb and doing unsafe things. I rarely use the same spot twice. Generally I just find a safe spot, with no one else around, while I am out and about. What's your question?

The date was just an idea. Not in any way set on it. Hadn't really put much thought into the next clean up recently until it was suggested.

Here is the thread of our last clean up.
In case anyone is interested. Had that in my signature until recently.

browns camp is fine, just avoid the main shooting pit. I’m 50/50 between there and wolf creek. Honestly wolf creek I feel like there tends to be more competition for spots and you can easily get hosed if you’re not out there first thing.

At browns camp there’s tons of other great gravel pits if you just cruise around alittle. Pretty much anywhere you find a safe backstop is fair game as long as they aren’t actively logging it.

Just looking for a new spot to try. The fires closed down my go to spots. Thanks. I didn’t know it was so open for shooting there honestly. Also thought maybe one of these times I’d go shoot and the hit a few trails. Thx.

How early do you need to be at wolf creek? 7:30?

you’d probably be fine that early. I usually get there 10-11 on weekends and a lot of the time have to hang out for an hour or so waiting for someone to leave.

The rules for shooting in Oregon state forests are really lax. They amount to don't be a dumb ass or asshole IMO.

    https://www.oregon.gov/ODF/Recreation/Pages/TargetShooting.aspx

I also follow the national forest rules regardless of what forest I'm in.
    https://www.fs.usda.gov/visit/know-before-you-go/shooting

There are hundreds of spots you can shoot and follow the rules in the general area of browns camp and still not be near anyone. The vast majority of people go to the known shooting areas. It's harder if you want to find something with more range. I don't own any rifles so this is not a consideration for me.

This is just so different then around Estacada and Lolo pass. It is very hard to fins spots you can shoot. And when you do, guys will drive up and start shooting behind you.
