This is usually my default go to. Fish and chips from Grizzly Tuna and off to Gerhart for beach time.

There is some appeal to the mountain hatch. At least you got them fancy cup rings.

I’m local public works. They were cool about everything, except it took weeks to get it because they were having a hard time getting cardboard for the Tacoma sizes boxes. That’s right, cardboard shortage. Don’t they know my wife has enough leftover Amazon boxes to fill all their orders this year lol

I went with the snail armor aluminum tailgate insert. I like it enough I am turning into a shill (unpaid). Weight is 2 lbs over the take off insert which means opening and closing feels unchanged. The small cutout at the bottom for the ridge really works well. Also The owner seems like a stand up guy (he has some delays and was a good communicator).

Since I'm just butting in let me also tell you about crossfit...

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
I like the countersunk screws. May have to mod mine.

Glad you got it all fixed up. The bigger gap below the tail light was most likely already there from factory. 3rd gens are known for this, and my first truck had a much larger gap on one side vs the other.

A little tip for beach driving is to be aware of the tides. I didn’t always realize it, but there are two high tides and two low tides within ~24 hrs. It makes me feel better to know what’s happening when I’m near the water in my truck.

Do those actually run the full length of the cab?

No sadly they have the same gap at the bed all sliders seem to. I don't understand why they are all like this. Add 6", it wouldn't be that hard.

I mean.. If it wasn't that hard I'm not sure 6" would help that much, but what do I know

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
Most of Mt Hood seems to be closed off tight. A bit excessively in my opinion. But there is still a few areas to play around in. Still out scouting new areas. :bananadead:
