Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
Yup that was me! I saw the flag... I punched it passed a few cars, got in behind you for a minute.. I lost you in the corners past government camp. I was loaded heavy and let ya go.

Glad you guys had a good time.

I couldn't have taken those comers like that on the stock suspension. I am loving my new suspension and I love pushing it that little bit harder now that I can :D

Were you trying to capture the flag? If so, then I feel like it's yours and I will hand it over. I wasn't trying to lose you, just having fun driving.

I couldn't find anything definitive. In my experience Washington cops are much more dickish than Oregon cops. If you have a link I will take a look.

Yes and came out the other side.

Bennet Pass was nice and dusty, but fun as always. Thanks for meeting up @C41n.

We went in from Bennet Pass Snow Park, down to Badger Lake, and out to Lookout Mountain.

In theory they should accept Oregons OHV permit. Closest I can find to proof is this:

    https://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.09.420

I am still less than 100% sure however. I have not called a ranger station yet, but I think I will do that.

Mackin's Gresham Auto Body or have a recommendation near Gresham for good auto body work?

Sadly, I partially wish I had been in the truck. Would be looking for a aftermarket rear bumper that way.

I heard this color is very hard to match, so need a place that will take the time and stand behind their work.

always check your rear view mirror when stopped. This could have been waaay worse.

Could have been worse. Fortunately I saw him barreling towards us and swerved. Only caught the corner.

My friend at A Master Touch has done plenty of work for me in the past on a couple of cars. He’s off Foster though so not really in Gresham.

Yacolt Burn State Forest requires a Discover Pass. They do check for them if they see you out there, and the fine is around $100. A Discover Pass day pass is $10-15 or an annual pass is around $35 if I remember. Oregon OHV permit is not a reciprocal pass for this area.

My experience with Oregon recognizing a Washington permit like a Discover Pass: The short answer is NO. I was in Tillamook State Forest and the Sheriffs were checking OHV permits. I did not have an Oregon OHV permit and I showed them my Discover Pass. They didn't even know what a Discover Pass was and proceeded to issue me a citation for not having an Oregon OHV permit. They were friendly and by the time our conversation was over my wife had talked him into tearing up the citation and giving a warning instead. After seeing my WA Discover Pass he was satisfied I had at least TRIED to follow the rules (no one seems to know the rules, not even him). He advised me to purchase the $10 Oregon OHV permit so I did. No regrets.

Washington does not issue OHV permits for on-road licensed vehicles as far as I have figured out. They issue them for ATVs/motorcycles only. It's all very confusing.

The verdict: Get a WA Discover Pass for Yacolt Burn State Forest. Get an Oregon OHV permit for trails in Oregon.
