Bring a spotter to feel more comfortable doing Happy Meal. There are some tight spots and some are uphill, off camber/uneven while turning.

Don't worry, tho. We saw an F150 super crew come out the trail exit shortly after us....

I have no idea how he fit on that trail the entire way thru. Lol.

Yeah, I’m hoping I can join a group going one of these days.

I think we could also hit up Ladee Flats one of these days as a group. If this dry weather keeps up it won’t be too bad. I did a little of it this AM, mostly in 2wd.

No, being solo I didn’t go too far down then. I went through the first couple obstacles on the 802 trail then turned around. Hit up the quarry too. I wouldn’t go through alone and definitely without a spotter.

I'll second all of it. Stock 3rd gens are pretty capable, no doubt. That moment was a little sketchy, only because you were basically on ice and gravity always wins when things start sliding, like a truck...and yours is worth worrying over.

Looking forward to pushing things a bit more when it's drier and getting to know the trail system better. Tim, we got you on three wheels, next time I'll try harder to do the same! I dug around and found my old GoPro so I'll mount that up next time too.

Heading to Bend tomorrow then Hood River for the rescheduled shoot I was supposed to do last weekend, so I can't play this weekend, but I'd like to get back out the following weekend, Saturday or Sunday, with anyone who's keen to join, I reckon. With appropriate social distancing, of course. #flattenthecurve

I may head out to Hood River to see if the snow level has gone down at the OHV this weekend or next.

Depending on when, and if I can get my family to agree to it. I’d be up for something. Given the times, I’m a little less willing to try more challenging trails, since it’s my daily driver and I don’t want to take it out of commission from damage. However, getting out and exploring would be nice.

We went out there a few weeks ago. Didn't make it all the way around to the actual 4x4 trails. We ran into more snow than we were comfortable with while having to take the long way around.

Nearly all the gates are still closed until around April 1, so we spent a while wandering around doubling back at closed gates. Eventually talked to a county sheriff (?) [insert correct term here] and he told us how to get around to the 4x4 trails with the gate closures. We just didn't make it that far.

Now with recent winter storm dumping on that area it might be worse...or might be better with temps being higher. Not sure. Either way, expect nearly all gates to be closed.

Probably a county sheriff, USFS has LEO's too but I think he was local.

Wasn't sure if it was USFS land or what.

Yeah I think that's all Hood River County until you hit the boundary.

He was a county Sheriff... I believe with temps in the 60’s we should see the freezing level drop like a rock!

Hey all. New to Oregon here and still new to off-roading, so...double noob. I'm in Eugene and just looking for good groups, driving obviously not an issue (got those leather seats =] ). Wondering what the general feasibility for my truck is with the rwd locker. Thanks and hoping to get out there soon.

Hey there. Welcome. I will say I'm no expert, but having a 2wd with rear locker is certainly better than no rear locker at all!

Get yourself some good tires for what you're trying to do, and I'm sure you can get through alot.

Without getting into a debate (lol)... I think uphill obstacles will probably be the biggest disadvantage without 4wd...but you can definitely still have some fun.
