Yes, that 2nd pic is the end of Happy Meal. The gate for the first section of University Firepower is still locked, but the other sections are open and passable.

That’s just awesome that a brand new $70k+ truck is going on trails at Browns Camp

Agreed. This Rivian model costs $85k due to having 4 motors and the larger battery, I was shocked when I saw it out at Browns Camp. On top of that the owner let me drive it for about 10 mins on University Firepower. Didn’t have to use the brake once due to the way the regenerative motor works, it brings you to a stop on a decline without touching the brake. Quite a strange drivetrain.

@C41n - tank mode isn’t available yet. It was previewed in their original release videos, but they’ve deemed it not ready for production so far.

Quite a few things at this point..
Has anyone done their spark plugs on their 3rd gen themselves? Curious about the difficulty level for someone who's never done it before on any vehicle.

I’ve done it on my 2007, it was super easy. I have the tools you’ll need if you decide to try it out.

Thanks a bunch! I just may take you up on that. The necessary tools are what I'm missing. I'm still trying to figure out if I'll need to take the intake manifold off or not. Many say you don't. Still trying to find a good video or write up on it.

I've been needing to do this as well, had the new plugs for a while and just never got around to getting the special socket.
Are you in the Portland area?

All car manufacturers have made it harder to do this kind of maintenance on your own. Too many special tools required, having to remove other components just to get to the part you want to change out etc.

Cool, maybe we can work out a time in the next few weekends.

Did you have to take the intake manifold off? I'd be shocked if you had to for spark plugs.

Couldn’t agree more. 10 years ago, I’d do almost all my own services, now I don’t know what weird sensor I may screw up or code I’ll throw. Lol

I don’t remember taking it off. Pretty sure it took under an hour to swap the plugs out.

You can do it without taking the intake manifold off. There are several YouTube videos showing what to do. I'll be doing mine next weekend.

Yeah I saw that as well, probably watched the same video lol. I'm just going to get the socket myself as well since the Napa down the street has it for 5 bucks and is something I should have in my toolbox anyway.

A couple tips of you want to consider this…if you can blow the dirt and dust off around the coils, it prevents junk from dropping into the head when you remove the plug. change them when the engine isn’t hot.
Wrap electrical tape around the end of the socket so there is a little of the sticky side exposed. That grabs onto the plug and helps you get it in the hole easier.
    Good luck.

Great tips! Lol yeah you'd find out pretty quick that doing any work on the engine when it's hot is a bad idea. Some spark plug sockets have magnets for pulling it up but the tape idea is a good one.

Did you check the gap on your new plugs or just drop them in? I'd assume the gap should be correct, especially since I got them from Toyota but never hurts to check.

If you have something to check the gap, it never hurts.
Yeah-the tape makes it just a little easier to keep the plug in place.
