Hey nerds! Anything in the books soon? Traded my '08 PreRunner in for a '22 TRD-Offroad and have the itch. I've never been "off roading" for recreational reasons (plenty of questionable adventures in the PreRunner during camping trips), but looking to try it out.

I’d like to get out there as well but my truck is mostly stock so i can’t do anything where a lift, larger tires or sliders are required.

You’ll be surprised what a stock truck can do. I use to think the same way! Some places (I know Browns Camp does this) have their trails rated upon difficulty levels, you’ll be fine if you stick on the easier trails.

If anyone is interested in joining, be my guest, there's plenty of space in the clearing we usually stop at

Stock rigs can make it too, a stock chevy equinox made it (slow and steady)

It'll be cool to see fireworks in Yakima from a distance

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
Great to see the group is still here and still active!
Life is good out here on the road. Miss getting to go out and break stuff, but I still get to have a little fun.
Wishing you all the best trails and problem free wheelin!

Hey! Late to the party, but I'm out in Hillsboro as well. I haven't been able to find any good shops out here, but I highly recommend Uncle Dan's Tire World by Washington Square. I've had the truck aligned there a couple times. I even had a chat with Dan himself about possibly tweaking my alignment to increase the clearance between the rear of the tire and the wheel well. They didn't end up being able to but we talked through it and they gave it a try and didn't even charge me. Good people and they know their stuff.

It depends on your suspension setup and driving style. I don't think the stock suspension handles it very well but with some beefier aftermarket offroad struts I've heard it's not as bad. It will obviously make a difference if you have to do any emergency handling, which is why it's just a personal call on how comfortable you feel about. The only way to really know is to just try it out. The sway bar is very easy to remove. Then just do some test drives around town to gauge your comfort.

I wish there was an aftermarket mod for an electric sway bar disconnect like the Jeeps have, that would be sweet!

I actually ended up taking mine off shortly after this post. I just got back from the coast and I think it handled about the same as with the sway bar. I have 5100’s all around, sliders and an aftermarket engine and trans skid. I’d say there’s a little more body roll on longer turns but nothing more than a normal truck feel. Yet to take it wheeling but hopefully once the weather clears up at end of month.

Nice! That's consistent with what I've heard, so seems like if you're not getting too roudy then it should feel pretty much the same. Should be a lot better on the trails, not getting pitched around constantly and will allow for proper independent articulation. I really need to pull mine as well. I'm a little paranoid about down travel if the sway bar isn't stopping it but just need to jack it up with and without and see if there's any difference.

Made a quick trip up to Browns Camp yesterday. Turned around at the second section of Cedar Tree due to snow.
Most of the snow on the trails is melted, but you’d have to go back down the way you came since the roads above 2,000 feet are still covered in snow.

Not an expert but we stayed at the hot springs, drove on the playa and had a nice time on the way to Utah. In the afternoon it hailed so hard we had 'snowcover' till morning. With our April trip we didn't schedule time to explore the mountain at all with the expectation it would still be snowy. Thanks for the chance to post photos.
