Honestly, with all the tech now days and satellite imaging, I don’t know why a place like TSF isn’t fully mapped for off roaders with trail names and difficulties. Seems easy enough.

Orange track is as far as I got on "Jeep Trail" before it turned into a dirt bike trail or dead end...I can't remember.

Those other tracks on yours to the south that are squiggly as all hell... what do the different colors mean? On my app they are just gray double dotted lines...usually when they look like that on mine it's a dirt bike trail, not a forest road or 4x4 trail.

Edit- For whatever reason "Jeep trail" isn't marked on my app anymore.

I’m not sure what all the colors mean. I found a gpx download on rider planet or something and those are the trails. But I can’t find any key or legend as to what they relate to.

Trailsoffroad is pretty handy to download GPX tracks for TSF to use in conjunction with Gaia. I also got the riderplanet bundle and it was confusing as all hell. With trailsoffroad you have to download them individually but I find the routes pretty spot on and I add info when I save them out like name and difficulty.

Also the free Gaia is pretty damn useless. Just spring for the subscription. I use it all the time hiking, climbing, and skiing.

Actually, I think that is where I got the Bates Road trail. Didn’t know about naming and inputting details though. Thx

When I say naming and details I mean that put that in the name of the GPX when I save it out... not like it's embedded in the file.

You can always add a waypoint and name that accordingly and even make notes within that.

True, I've always wished you could add details to tracks like you can waypoints.

I wish all that could then be imported to the trucks map system.

Yeah it'd be nice if Gaia worked with Android auto/Apple carplay

Gaia does work with CarPlay now! Was an update earlier this year. It’s a game changer!

I missed the factory car play option by 10 months.

Dude... does this work with Android Auto? And do you know if I need the paid version of Gaia?

I just spent another day in Mt Hood forest today. I was thinking it's about time to get back to TSF. I was also pomder doing a mid week trip out there next week. We could get a group together. I know a lot of people won't be able to make it with work, mid week.

I should organize more runs. I am lazy as fuck though, and having to be somewhere on time seems like work sometimes.

I remember. I may have been half ass baiting you into going up first :rofl:

Did you download the free trailsoffroad map?

I often wonder this. Google hasn't figured out a way to make money on it yet.. Speaking of Google..

I emailed Gaia and they told me the same thing.

    Hey Google :brianr:

I just download the GPX files for individual trails and use them in conjunction with the Gaia maps. Does trails off-road have full maps? I’ve never noticed.

I finally signed up last night to check it out. It doesn't have full maps, maybe the paid does but I don't know.

I also exported all the TSF trails into a gpx editor to try and make it one trail somehow. Failed at that also.

It's a cluttered mess on the map in Gaia but I can't find a way to change that.

I'm a die hard Android fan, but seriously considering getting an old iPhone just to run gaia on carplay. Then maybe I could read the damn map without pulling over.
