I’m going to look. We went to play in the snow yesterday and with minimal gear, it was still a pain. I’m okay with it, but my wife is like you need to do something different. So here goes an expensive shopping adventure...

How water tight are the soft topper type set ups?

I run a canopy on mine. Cons - it's a pain to take off. It weighs a bunch. Pros - your stuff stays dry-ish, it's a good place to mount the awning, mobile ski lodge for the kiddos, one more 'site' for sleeping when going out for overland trips.

So if you haul stuff in the bed that's over the height of the canopy constantly, it's a pain. Otherwise, it's a canopy.

Quite a few things at this point..
I bet they'd sell if you throw them up on the TW marketplace and/or even on FB in a Tacoma group.

Ish. It's a truck bed and there's drain holes in them, in which dust gets in. The canopy also just sits on the rim of the bed, and while you have soft gaskets between the bed and the canopy... I still haven't been able to find all the leaks yet heh.

Yeah, 200-ish (I have a 4are) plus another fifty for the awning, then the gear storage box, then the racks for skis and whatnot.

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
Mine is almost completely water tight. I get a little dribble down the one corner wall, but no big deal.

I have had a leer canopy for last 3 years and love it even though I'll be replacing it in a few months with a Super Pacific.

Yakima tracks on top with 3 load bars have held a light RTT (135lb) with no issues on rough trails.

A few leaks to seal up in front of bed, and it's been dry since. I love having the extra dry storage space, and it's awesome for wet dogs.

You give up being able to move larger bulkier items regularly.

    Sorry been busy moving...

    Pros:

You can be a worthless bum anywhere!
    63C3FC1A-66B7-469A-B17A-7CC6B00744D5.jpg

Dumpster fire moves are a piece of cake!
    F4DADB4C-BF20-4514-A6F1-7397D115A2F2.jpg

    Even more mounting points!
    F9DEA9B3-97AC-4497-9028-E08885689AE0.jpg

All your shit is dry and protected from the rain and scary white stuff that cripples the city of Portland!
    78A08249-DF99-4B0D-B911-973A78168723.jpg

You can build out cool shit for hidden storage and shenanigans!
    E75BEEC9-26E9-4571-B692-31628125EFE5.jpg

And now my favorite pro: None of your friends will ask you to help them move anymore!
    :bikewheelie:

    Cons:

Old man vibes - but old men are wise (the look grows on you, I promise).

People say you should’ve gotten a 4Runner - but a 4Runner doesn’t have a bed to keep wet, smelly, and/or dead stuff separate the cab. Plus it’s more room.

Taking it on and off is a process - but you could get a garage hoist. And how often are you really hauling things taller than the cab? And if you are, wouldn’t you like an excuse not to?

But seriously, you get waterproof, windproof, and dust proof storage. Camping inside is a game changer for me - no set up or tear down time means I have a mobile camp. It’s low maintenance in that you never have to dry it out after a trip like you do tents. I have yet to see any water inside, even power washing it - make sure you/dealer seals the bed before install, especially the front corners. You’ll get a tiny bit of dust at the rear corners but not enough to bother you. My SnugTop Rebel only weighs 150lbs (negligible) and I didn’t actually see any mpg decrease - I think the improved aerodynamics offset the weight but YMMV. With OVTune now, my truck feels lighter than stock even with the shell. It was my armor that killed mpgs more than anything.

I say do it, especially since you have a long bed.

Daaaang I like that look, does the metal wrap around to the tire too? It looks like it, but against that blue it's hard to tell. I like that look though

You said it's called the Warn semi-hidden?
