I have an old craftsman inflator that I haven’t used in ages but I’ll have it with me. I also will have to look for my old school deflator

That and there are other activities throughout the day I think. Or clinics to attend. Something. I just liked having a list of what is considered easier runs at browns camp.

Quite a few things at this point..
I've done the trails mentioned. If a winch comes out, whoever's stuck probably shouldn't be driving period lol. But I do get what you're saying, and if they are putting on other activities that they themselves are creating, I can get behind that as well. It would be a joke if it's just running those particular trails and saying goodbye, because it's not hard finding someone to join you to spot, just takes being social if you don't personally have wheeling friends. Especially with forums like this.

Yeah. This is part of a multi day event called newbfest they’re putting on. That’s about all I know.

There are at least 2 play areas, but I don't remember them being super big.

I know Tacotim85 has a compressor, and ST77 said he has one. So 2 for sure. Don't know about anyone else. I do not have a 12 volt one yet. I have a porter, but it would require a 1200 watt inverter to run so that's not really helpful.

I looked it up, 4wheelparts does have the 88p for about $20 more than Amazon. But amazon is telling me 1 day shipping on it if ordered within the next 8 hours. I cannot afford one right this moment. Already went way over budget on my other recovery gear for now.

Lost Lake camp ground is beautiful. It's a pay site though, and I don't like that personally. For dispersed camping I have not camped on this side of Mt Hood. Many great spots on the SW side of Mt Hood, outside of the Estacada area. Sure there are many on the east side as well, but I don't know any personally.

Wow, that's awesome. That would make 13 Tacomas total if everyone shows.

I gotta be honest guys. I am really stoked there is so much interest. However with the size this meet up is growing to I am a bit nervous. I want everyone to have fun. I have some fair amount of experience off-road, but almost all of it was solo. I have no idea how to make sure everything goes smoothly with this many people. With this many trucks something as simple as a dead end can provide a logistical problem.

Not trying to discourage anyone, just want to be clear about where I am at. Gonna need everyone to work together to make sure this goes well.

No need to get crazy unless you want onboard air and something fancy. Fortunately our trucks have the 400 watt inverter that can power a small 110v compressor, I have a 1.5 gallon Campbell hausfeld I've had for years and it works great, but I am willing to bet the harbor freight pancake would work just as well, it's listed as 2.5amps which would put it around ~300 watts. You can also use it for other air tools at home if you need it. You can always ask someone there if you can test out the display model but other reports on TW seem to show that it works just fine. Nice thing is that you can fill the tank and get a jump start on filling. use this coupon and it's a great deal. https://www.hfqpdb.com/best_coupon/3+GALLON,+100+PSI+OILLESS+PANCAKE+AIR+COMPRESSOR

4WheelParts price matches, and Amazon is one of the places they'll match with. I have done it several times. Just an FYI for everyone.

As for the large group, I totally agree. What time are you planning to go out? My friends and I are still planning and could push out an hour or so either direction to spread vehicles out.

Wasn't there someone who had the actual recent trail maps? Paper ones. Seems like we should try to plan a route.

Edit: meant to quote @C41n as well.

Looks like paper map is dated 2002. I think the digital map wins for most recent. Could call to ask if there's an updated paper map that can be picked up along route.

If anyone is running Gaia... you can plan a trip fairly easy. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the Post Canyon area. I’m in no rush and am just down to explore.

If there isn't a more recent paper map, and someone really wants a physical map, you can get it printed at a kinko's or whatever and fold it up for your glove box :)

I had no idea they priced matched Amazon. That is great to know.

We are meeting at 11am. I would rather you guys roll with us. It will be awesome to have so many Tacomas in one place.

I will see what I can work up tonight.

Lots of people recommended Gaia, but with the free version I kind of hated it. I am also in no rush and down to explore. My main concern is leading a convoy of 13 trucks somewhere we are gonna have a hard time getting out of. TacoTim85 and I ran into so many dead ends in Browns Camp last time I lost count. Wasn't a big deal, great views. However many of them simply wound't have had a good way for a big group to turn around. On the plus side, I don't remember that many dead ends in Post Canyon.

Exactly what I intend to do today.

So to sum up, I will see if I can plan out a general idea of a route tonight when I have time and post it up. I am going to kinos to print myself a map. If anyone wants one, let me know and I will make you a copy also.

After messing around with Alltrails, ViewRanger, and a few other mapping apps, I ended up purchasing the license for Gaia and I've been super happy with it.

Honestly, most of the time, I probably would have been just as happy with Google maps though, because it's got most forest service roads listed. Gaia has the benefit of offering tons of land-use and forest service maps though, which is pretty nice when in planning mode.

Either way, gotta download the area you are heading to for offline use. And always good to carry a paper backup.

I printed out that color brochure someone else posted a few pages back too, since it has more trail designations.

If I'm reading that right, looks like Post canyon trails will be closed off. There is a note about access via binns hill to motorcycle trails.

Kingsley Rd to the south goes for a ways and I'm not sure if that would lead us to the 4x4 areas. Just trying to get a good look at everything as we speak.

I am not sure if the gates on this next map are closed or not.
