Driving through a parking lot and some guy decides to gun it in reverse out of a parking spot right into my passenger side as I passed him. Damage all the way from the front wheel to the rear wheel. Peeled the doors open like a sardine can. I'm seriously awestruck at how much damage such a low speed accident created.

EDIT: Added repair detail and after pictures for anybody who doesn't feel like digging through the whole thread.

Repair bill detail and after photos:

That guy saw your new truck and said "fuck that guy and his new Tacoma" right before he threw it in reverse. How did you not lay him out and back over his head.

I'm actually reading up on how to handle that, I hear not all insurance companies will pay out for that. I have seriously made one payment on this thing.

Ford Fusion. Did a lot of damage to his back left corner. His lights are what caught on the door gaps and ripped them open.

Man that is awful. I am sorry to see / hear of this. Hopefully it is fixed up quickly to a point where you'll never notice it ever happened. :(

Did Orange PD come out and do a collision report? Since it was a parking lot, I assume it was private property… which cali cops don't usually take collision reports on as they are EXTRA civil in nature and not criminal. Having said that, with that much damage, I hope they went ahead and did one! PM me if you need any info or have any concerns as far as the claims process or police report situation is concerned. Best of luck.

Whole new OE doors will be cheaper than skins and labor to reskin them. New fender/flare is a given. Looks like the bed will work out w/o too much difficulty. Wheel, I'd ask for a new one, unless that's just rub marks.

The good news is that the paint is all new, so you won't be trying to match new paint up against something with fade in it.

The right shop can do amazing things. Be optimistic!

Damn, this is the second MGM I've seen smashed on this site.

You should carry a black permanent marker and take the law into your own hand's and x out his eco car pool sticker as punishment for being a douche. j/k.
