tiny monster or sky ray king will light up a football field

if you are looking for cows ya need 4x18650 and multiple emitters so you have a huge lit up area at 100 yards

I'd have 8 charged 18650 3400mah ready and go looking, and use a smaller headlamp/flashlight for walking around,
use the big light just when needed to maximize runtimes

skyray king is ultra cheap and almost as good...

So it really comes down to budget. If this is for a business and can be used as an expense, I know what I would do.....

I used my HC30 again this morning to light the way in the pitch dark down into steelhead waters. That light is really growing on me.

A steelhead is basically a rainbow trout that lives in a lake or ocean, then travels into rivers or streams to reproduce.

They fight like hell and jump all over the place.

Definetly a style of fishing I would love to try. Fly fishing has to be one of the most challenging and rewarding forms of angling out there. Some day, some day!!!

A steelhead is an ocean/Great Lakes version of the rainbow trout, but they are actually part of the salmon family. They are not trout. Just clarifying the previous question that asked if your fish was a salmon.

Yes, it is a type of salmon, but the species, regardless of whether it is a stream/river/lake/ocean resident, has been misnomered as a trout. It is merely a trout in name only.

They are a blast to hook into!

    Steelhead, are trout, not salmon.

Rainbows, steelhead, and salmon are salmonid's, but a steelhead is a rainbow trout.

Is there any reason to buy a Nitecore TM series over this?

This is true, but the TM series is exponentially more expensive.

For occasional use, the $40 SkyRay might be the way to go.

It looks like there are two versions of this light: 6 emitters, or 9 emitters.

Any reason to get one over the other?

Edit: looks like there are multiple versions of this.

Can't argue with that. Personally, I have been consistently dissapointed with Chinese lights. They are usually so wrong in their output claims that it's never even close to being a replacement for the light it's trying to copy. Add to that how much worse the overall quality is and I stopped buying them.

There's a few cheap ass chinese lights that I've had good luck with, but the truth is, you get what you pay for.
