pretty sure it's a scam, i texted to see if they wanted to trade for a jet ski, and got an email back saying busy at work, email this gmail addy, plus that price, not that it's low, but because it's a random number is very sketch

 

dont trust anything on craiglist unless it is a local
meet up and cash in hand.

One time a guy wanted to buy my camper top and he
said that he will paypal me the entire amount plus shipping
costs if i could only first send him a western union check
for the cost of the shipping to the shipping agancey and
he would re-embursse me.

I told him to go F**k himself. he they proceeded to send me
fake paypal e-mails about how if i were to send the shipping
money via western union that i would be compisated in full amount

when i called paypal directly they strongly advised me that it
was a new scam tactic that they are using now.
So i will only trust local pickup and cash in hand.

I often wondered how often they succeed . A while ago A good friend of mine was all over a deal on 2 Tacos for some crazy price .They gave him the same old sob story...In the air force and stationed in Germany but the trucks were in texas and ready to ship in containers, Blah..blah..blah. I couldnt convince him it was a scam and he said his wife knew all about that computer stuff so it was all good, I said OK.. Thank goodness the folks at Amscot advised them against it or he would have sent them a check. Really he would have deserved it for being that stupid though.

 

I knew a few people that sent money and got no vehicle.

 

a lot of people are very gullible, esp the older ones, pre internet days, even sending a couple hundred dollar deposit, they'll take it and either try to get more, or call it quits on that one
